My sheep have become more cuttely in the last few days. I think they know Christmas is coming. one of my babys caught a small cold and has the sniffles. I was playing with happy this morning. and tiny wanted to play with his ball last night but it was frozen!! he was so sad. I think I made a new friend known as farmflock123. I am so excited for this Saturday the 21 because there is the Berkshire grown farmers market and I am working with the Lilas Mountian Farm crew. you can find us at WWW.LILASMOUNTIANFARM.com and FALLOW US on instagram at lilasmountainwool I can FALLOW up about that later but please come support us. is there a way I can get my sheep to stay still when I attempt to trim their hooves? I know how to trim hooves I have done it before but I cant seem to get my babys to stay still. I put them on their halters and tie them to the fence loosely, I give them hey water and cherieos asa treat. They just never stay put. they are always stomping. They are all castrated and are so sweat. they are so nice and kind they they are unable to ever go back to the farm because they would walk up to a preditor and die. they would never hurt me ever. what do I do?

You can't expect them to be all "sweet" when you are doing something they don't like. Tie them to the fence UP TIGHT... Push their body against the fence and pick up the foot closest to you and trim... you need to keep them immobile so you can cut the hoof and not get into the quick and make it bleed. It is not something that you can "talk them into"... you need to be firm and make them stand still with some muscle... No feed and hay and letting them move around. It will go faster and then they will be done.
