I see a problem with her playing with the sheep. Not allowed.

Also leash training, how do you take her to the vet? My Anatolians are leash trained and will ride in back seat of truck with seat folded up. Yes, work on that, you need to be able to put her in the car or truck for going to the vet.

She only had to go once so far and it was a task but with a harness. Def need to work on it. I do correct her from chasing and playing with them when I am there...she tends to get so excited....but correct needs to be worked on

And I can't figure out why ewe won't lay down. Lamb is laying in straw corner but ewe just won't go or lay down.

It's brave you reported this event and asked for help. 👍 Thinking you'll take all suggestions into the needed actions to keep sheep and dog safe. Please update as you move along...ask for any more input help you need. We all try to be there when needed. It's not like we haven't endured unplanned, devastating actions ourselves. Take a deep breath and work toward better days. 🫂🥰 We understand.

@Baymule & @Ridgetop won't lead you wrong on the dogs & sheep!! They've BTDT with different LGD breeds and problem as well as perfect ones.🥰. And run sizeable sheep flocks. So listen up 🤣 ask away.

Doe may be unsure of predation still -- she probably won't relax for a while. It was very traumatic for her!

Just check baby cam and she is laying down. And the dog although locked in backyard isn't far so she prob i still nervous. I feel so bad for her
But she has been getting so much love and some animals crackers when we helped her nurse .....What a day!! It took bravery to tell my husband and ask for help for sure. Extremely grateful for y'all's help as always!!! Being a shepherd is an ongoing learning process. Will update in am :)

I learn new things all the time. I’m on my 5th LGD, currently have 3 Anatolians. First 2 were Great Pyrenees. They have taught me more than I ever taught them.

Back to the chasing, if she plays with the sheep when you are there and you call her to stop, don’t you think she is doing it more, when you aren’t there? Ponder on that.

I’m glad ewe is laying down. I was starting to suspect fractured ribs. But I think you are right, she is scared of the dog and nervous.

Is this your first LGD?

Update.
Lamb nursed with my assistance every 4 hours. Was walking around but ewe is still not interested at all. Overnight did not see.lamb up much. There were times she would tolerate it more than others but still must be held for lamb to nurse, and is still kicking. She stands and did some laying down on opposite side of barn from her baby. Ugh definitely still worried this won't work out but am still going to try and try. Other ewes and dog in their respective areas for now till current situation is more under control

I should elaborate she doesn't really play but chases them. I first started noticing it when our ram was out there and trying to get her away from ewes but it became more of a game trying to get him and vice versa. No doubt she does this when I'm not there but I really have been working with her on a ton prior to this and she really has gotten better, it's just young age too. Regardless dog situation will be worked out. Not first lgd. We had pair of akbash and it was a disaster. male was very dog aggressive and they both could.not be contained! Got this dog and have tried to do things more of the right way and it's still not perfect ...but I know the dog has sooo much potential. She does a fantastic job at so much I just got to teach her!!
Also for ewe this morning I will inspect her more. I didn't see injuries anywhere else but with thick coat nothing noticeable.

I don't think I have the means or equipment to make a smaller area that she can't get out of. I had them in something smaller but she is trying to jump on and over things so this was the best I could do.... 😞
