Took outback down to co-op this morning and went and picked up explorer from the other shop that had fixed the ac... no leaks.. nothing they had/hadn't done.... the compressor quit..... REALLY.... da#@&*$@# thing was nearly $500 plus the time of checking out the system and recharging the freon...
NEVER ENDS.....
At least the outback should be covered since it is only 3 months since they did the complete brake job....

Transferred all the meters and hoses into the forester and the carport... what I needed today is in the forester...rest in carport.

A nice 62 here this morning also... up to 78 so far. I have the bottles in the forester, got to get the reports for the other farm to drop off, and will pick up the couple milk samples at the farm I get my milk from to get his 4 cows tested with the one I am going to. Then I will go by and finish the bush hogging that is left so DS can move the tractor this afternoon or evening.
He cut the rest of the orchard grass field so that will get made as sq bales over the weekend. Very slight chance of shower this afternoon but doubtful. We never got more than 20 sprinkles yesterday and we had 50% chance... it stayed mostly north... we were on the fringe.
Then next week the sorghum-sudan grass will get cut. He is talking wrapping it to make baleage... it will keep better if wrapped with all the hay we have made dry and still have so much stored outside even with the hay barn having well over 200 rolls in it as well...
Good problem to have.

Ears of corn done and in freezer... since we didn't get the rain, I will pick more beans in the next day or 2 and get them done.

Gotta get going.

WELLLLLLLL........ I was wrong... I had the BACK brakes completely done... brakes, calipers, rotors.... this is a front brake...:hit:hit:th:th:th:th:barnie:barnie:barnie:hit:hit:hit:hit..

So brakes and calipers, he said the rotors look decent... Parts in Monday....

There goes the having several paid off credit cards...for several months, with 0 balance..... at least, I can put the explorer on one that just had a new billing cycle, so will get 6 weeks out of it... and will put the subaru on another to get 6 weeks... and by then maybe will have a better plan....and be able to pay them off with no interest incurred...
Also, the guy at the shop where the explorer was told me a place to try with selling the explorer... so will go by there next week... with the fall coming on, the 4x4 might help sell it... he said he didn't realize it only had 52,000+ on it... he does mostly the office work and scheduling and such...

Spent another 2 hours on the bush hog and finished all I was supposed to do and he texted me and said he finished the steep part in the back and has tractor and bush hog back at the barn.. will take it to the 2nd place with the lease agreement to get it done before the 20th...

Nice day, mostly sun a little sticky/muggy this afternoon. Thermometer says 88 but it never gets in the sun with the maple tree shading it...

Tomorrow is raking the orchard grass hay so he can sq bale it. Watching the weather so he can start cutting the sorghum-sudan grass... He is pretty much planning to wrap it which I think is a really GOOD idea.

Hope to get the green/wax beans all picked and then done up the next couple of days and pull the purple ones and the wax beans...

Got a bunch of BIG cucumbers... any ideas???? A couple are getting yellow so can go to the chickens... but others are just big... missed them in the "jungle of leaves"....

Need to get some laundry going to get hung out to dry while it is decent out and all these dirty, cow sh!t clothes from the dairies, washed ....
I did water all the hanging plants since it has been 4 days since we got any rain... just to be safe....
Got a sink full of dishes that need doing... maybe in the morning... I have always preferred to washing dishes in the morning for some reason....

DS GF (yep, back together I guess but not living together) had gall bladder out and has had complications... is back in the hospital and in extreme pain and not doing good... for all my dislike, this is not what I wish on her, or on him,.... he is staying nights in hospital, after her mom and sister and he insisted on her going to the emergency room when it was not good....after the first surgery.... they went in and did a second surgery as the liver is pumping out 100x the bile they said she should have... there is a stint in there... and now DS says the incision from the 2nd surgery shows signs of infection and they still have not put her on antibiotics... and have a saline drip as she is dehydrating with all the fluid they ate taking from the stint...her mom is staying with her days, sister is in and out with trying to deal with the kids and her house cleaning business... and DS taking the little boy for several hours at a time after the babysitter so the sister can try to deal with some "normal things".... I think GF daughter is mostly with the father... They are trying to get her moved to a different hospital since the care at this one... which has always been considered a good hospital.... has really been terrible....
Plus, DS working and trying to get this bush hogging done for the lease agreement... got one more place to do... several pastures but some of it does not get done since it is soo steep... I will not do alot of it...
And school has started for the county just north, and our county starts here in a few days I think.....next week on the 15th or something. Ridiculous to have school start in the middle of the summer..... I don't make the rules....Labor day is soon enough... but I am old school thinking.

Went and tested after I left bush hogging, then stopped and dropped off reports at the farm I picked up the samples before the car trouble on Wed afternoon...
Came home and got chickens locked in and ate a little and am going to get a shower and go to bed...

Where I lived in High School, we would start school about this time of year for a couple of weeks, then we would break for harvest. In that area, cotton was ready to pick at that time and the hill orchards had their late crop of peaches coming at that time so the big event in town was the Peach Festival. Also, the big harvest of watermelons was ready and the labor force was sitting in schools so that explains that schedule. They still have that schedule.

Saturday morning. Was down to 64 overnight but already up to 77 at 9a.m.

SLIGHT chance of pop up storms after 4 p.m. Radar looks like it will stay south but still in our "viewing area" so of course the TV station is reporting it.... Looked on the computer and I don't see it here... but then if I rely on that I would be just plain dumb.
Going to go rake the hay in about an hour after all the dew is dried off... ought to dry fast as it is in the middle of the field, nothing along any tree lines. Got that all made last week. Mostly sun out and a light breeze.
I really noticed that the days are getting shorter as it takes alot longer for the sun to come over the trees across the road to hit the front porch for a little bit... then it moves around enough that the maple tree shades most of it.
Time to let the chickens out of the crates. Got laundry in the washer, will hang before I go and start another load to soak. Mostly nice for tomorrow too. It'll dry in a couple hours on the line.

Bad news with DS' GF, Together again or not, he still has some feelings for her after all this time. Hope she recovers so he can get back to his routine. Where do they think they wil transfer GF?

Shame about the brake situation. I know how that goes - just as you are celebrating credit cards paid off :weeealong comes another big bill that wipes the smile off your face. :hit

:fl that we can save up for the generator and shipping the sheep to Texas.

Oh, forgot to say that with the large cucumbers you can make cinnamon rings. Several days pickling process. They taste like cinnamon apple rings when done. Peel cukes then have to core the cukes to remove the seeds, soak in pickling lime, then make a sweet strong cinnamon syrup. Baymule has the same recipe I use. My kids demand them for every holiday meal and want me to give them jars. Even the grandkids want their own jars as gifts! LOL Haven't made them in a while because I haven't been able to get cukes old enough (they have to big and just about overripe with hard seeds). If you want the recipe I will post it. Let me know. They are really nice and look good in the jars for gifts too.

Please post recipe... I have at least 6-8 that are really big... sounds like a good thing to do with these big ones...
