Darn, that garden situation would have set me off, too. 😕 But, over & done. Now ya figure your own. I'd eat more asparagus if it was in my yard 😄 But I'm trying to rethink my set up and where I would like it to go, overall, to actually handle things IF I EVER retire 🤣🤣🤞 What do I really want to "do, handle" and all that. It's another time to analyze my farm life. Ya know, what's less work, more income (or more COST) more enjoyable/doable now. What's fun and profit -- or screw it all and only self provide. 🤣

This year will be a test for some options...raise more feed, use land differently, etc. takes time to do those things and I'm testing myself in some areas.

Tuesday morning... Had some rain overnight, cloudy and more coming. 52 to start.

Got a notice on the phone that mower is supposed to be delivered today... not expecting it yet, and there has to be someone here to receive it... so now I am sorta stuck here... can't seem to find out an approx. delivery time.... just aggravating now. I was thinking the end of the week, as was originally suggested when ordered. We are under a "slight" watch condition for severe weather/rain/wind.....What would they have done if I was away for the day testing somewhere????

I am going to try making a phone call or something to see what I can find out since I did not have much notice... at least letting me know a day ahead would have been nice.
Have a headache this morning, so not in the right frame of mind either to get this "dropped " on me. Hate all this "online" stuff... CALL ME.... don't send all these "links", to not see anything definite..... and don't do it last minute like this... GRRRRR

You have to be careful, because there are scammers now who pretend to be UPS, saying they couldn’t deliver your package and need confirmation of your address. The emails look like UPS, but check what email address it’s sent from, and it will be slightly wrong. (Aside from the fact that I wasn’t expecting any UPS deliveries.)

@farmerjan are these the unique daffodils you saw at Lowes before Easter? I went to see if my Lowes had any after-Easter markdowns and they did, but not on any daffodils. (I got hyacinths 75% off.) They did have these full price ones that I’ve never seen before, with their petals sweeping backwards.

@Finnie .... I get those can not deliver BS stuff and block them as spam on the phone. No, this was from Greenworks, with the order number and all that... Turns out... it was the tiller that I ordered when I ordered the mower... YEP, splurged on the small battery tiller to be able to redo a spot if I don't get it planted right away... remembered what @canesisters said about the small one she got through work a couple years ago and how handy it was... So, I had been wanting it last year, and didn't get it... then I got a bit more of a discount on it by adding it to the order, saved another $27 over the sale price they had it for...And I got the one that was the tiller only, no battery and charger since I will have plenty of batteries and chargers with the ones I have and the ones coming with the riding mower... can't use the self propelled and the riding mower and the tiller all at the same time.... and it uses the same type battery as I have for the self-propelled and the riding mower... they are all 60v system... and the only difference is the length of the different sizes but all can be used interchangeably ... the smaller amp ones won't last as long in say the mower as the bigger amp ones... and of course the longer ones are heavier , but they will interchange and power anything that is 60v system...
So that was the delivery for today... and I didn't need to be here for it but saw the guy so that was all good. He was nice. Said he didn't think that Fed Ex delivered anything that big... and the notice I got the other day after ordering said that it would come by Ryder truck... today's phone text didn't say who was delivering what...

So it rained hard for just a little bit... now it is half bright grey skies, with darker to the west... sun trying to come out right now, here...

Also, the daffodils you have the pic of kinda look like them, but the ones I saw had a much darker orange/red color trumpet... I honestly don't remember the outside petals sweeping back so much. I am going to make the 10+ mile trip down to Lowes to see what they have left.... and if they have any might try to get at least one thing of them. Some were in that silver planter thing... looks like the top of a milk can sorta? and some were in a "planter box" looking thing. I could get some more hyacinths if they are marked down like that... so will head down there in a little bit...Won't be in that direction anytime soon for anything else...

Getting excited to get the mower and get some things mowed down and then be able to use the cart behind it to clean up stuff around here... pulling by hand when the grass is grown up is a PITA... and if the fence gets going in a couple weeks, then I can at least use the elec netting to make some grazing areas, and fence off the garden... and I think I am going to move the holstein twins here to eat the grass...

So, going to head to Lowes while it is not raining right now... I took something for this nagging dull headache again... I must be sleeping wrong at night.

My owner sampler farmer, that does his own samples, called and I need to go by and drop off bottles for him... he kinda said this would be a good week to do it... of course I was pretty close to there last Sat when I tested... but no... he couldn't call me a few days ahead... Really getting tired of trying to accommodate them some days. Will talk to DS later and see if we can do the 500+ cow herd one morning... then I could go drop the bottles off when right down the road to them....I need to get them there in the next day or so...

Lindsay that helped me and wanted to get the testing job back awhile ago... just took a new job at the horse vet clinic near here, starts next week... so that's the end of that for helping me.... Deena might will still do some afternoons but cannot do the mornings...

@Finnie ... I went to Lowe's and yes, the daffodils have the petals swept back... took a pic and will see if @Mini can upload it for me... the centers look more orange than yours, but it might have been the angle you took the pic.... also, got them in a round "plastic" pot instead of the metal "can top" one like in your pic....
They had hydrangea's 75% off but not hyacinths.... I got a small pot of a couple yellow tulips to stick in the ground... $2.98 for them.
Got home and took my hand carried weed eater (not the walk behind) and did along the piece of split rail fence where I am going to put these bulbs... the tulips and the orange centered ones. I think I will put some of the mini ones near the post on the end of the fence and the rest in the little "garden" along the porch here... Then I can mulch them heavy and they will die off in a few months anyway . There are a few mini roses in the "garden" along the porch also.
Also got a kiddie wading pool to put the asparagus roots in... I will go get some of the "old" manure in the floor of the calf barn to use and add some other soil.. get them set in there so they will grow and develop and then can get them planted when I get the spot decided on... I got 1 bunch they had left the other day... cannot believe they sold them all out that fast. They are starting to sprout so it will be good to get them into soil for now...

DS is going with me to test Thursday morning... he is shipping those steers we brought back home a couple weeks ago, on Friday. Work "discipline" was severe... he is off 3 weeks with no pay, demoted and pay cut among other things...

So, that is that. The next 3 weeks he will try to get some things done...caught up on the farm, and go from there....

He said we will get the brush pile burned off too....

Time to get something else done in the house....
