Was 15 last night. Up to 25 already at 9.... but the sun is on the recorder so probably about 20 out. Still the sun is out so that will help.
Went and got the stove yesterday. I cannot get the fitting loose on the one in the house so have to get a pair of locking pliers because the ones I had handy were not, and slipped... Need 2 pair to hold both sides to get it unscrewed.
Eating cream of wheat hot cereal... will go out in a little bit.

Use pipe wrenches - the teeth will hold it so you can put extra pressure on turning it.

@Ridgetop ... yeah, none handy here... all that stuff is usually at the barn... I keep a few things here, but not alot.

I have a scratchy throat... not a good thing... really raw feeling. Vet is supposed to come tomorrow... I am not feeling very good at all....🙁:duc:th:th

DS went across the mountain and took Sue..to the hospital this morning.... Nelson is not doing good...and he stayed longer than he had planned... Plan was to get the cows all moved this aft...but he went to the pasture after he got back...it was after 2:30..... he got them all in except one cow with a new calf... couldn't find her, she must've been up in the cedars with the calf... he saw them yesterday. Didn't want to leave her there and didn't want to just leave someone else there... not knowing which calf goes with who, since these are the bought cows from his friend that never got ear tagged when they put them out here... supposedly for a month... nearly 4 months ago... :duc:duc:he:he:somad:somad:somad:rant:rant:rant:rant Typical how things get done around here....

So I texted him back and said leave the bull there... no worries about "who matches him" as far as the calves go... and he will come in easily... thing is I didn't know he finally put a bull there... not even sure who it is.... I remember we talked about it, in case the other guy's bull didn't get them all bred when they were at his place... but I have nothing written down about a bull ever getting moved there...:barnie:idunno
Have not heard anything back... should have been able to move them in 2 trips... I offered to go help but he said he was "good"... all this because "she" is back in the picture ... to what extent I am not sure... but lately he has not "needed me" to go do some things that normally I would go do.

Yesterday, after being across the mountain... he got home later than originally planned, and went in to take some hay next door... came out and I had just gotten back with the new stove... He comes back out of the field... and he goes down the road.... I thought he was going across from my house...to get some of that hay, to put more in there, but no... I guess he was going to the one field that he had not moved all the hay out of yet... and "they" did not shut the gate... which we often don't if just going across the road.... and I look up and all the cows are headed towards the road... by the time I got in my car and flew over there... half were out in the road and headed right down the road... not milling around but headed down the road... I drove in the field, opened the windows and called... and they turned around and came back...thinking I had grain I am sure... another neighbor had stopped just past them so they couldn't keep going... but that was a BIG disaster averted... I was really P.O.'ed.... so I sat there, waiting at the closed gate, and turns out she was with him... and she got out of the truck as I opened the gate,,, and he looked and said, don't tell me the cows were out... and I said, yeah, by the time I saw them headed towards the gate and got here in the car, (we are talking 500 ft from the house...) half were out headed down the road... and she said, I told him we should shut the gate and she said he said to her when they came out.... nah, they won't bother with the new rolls of hay in there to eat on...... YEAH RIGHT....
I was teatotally Pi$$ed..... and they had gone over into the 1 acre "catch lot" so then we had to get the calves out to follow their momma's back into the other field...we mostly keep them out of that lot unless we are wanting to catch them up... you know... "oh the gate's open, let's go in here" kind of thing... makes it easier to get them in there if it is a "new place" opened up to them...
I just could not believe that she was with him.......

He said today when he got back here and said he was going down to see if he could get them in, we were on the phone and he was telling me about things at the hospital....it is really not going well... that she told him that she could tell I was really mad and he said I don't know if you were madder about the cows or her being with me, and I didn't comment... except I said that it could have been a real sh!t show with them just coming out in a wave and headed right down the road... and he said she just offered to go help since "they" were late coming home from the hospital...so guess she went too... although I have not been asked if I wanted to go... then he said we are not back together, she just said since it was late she could go help me... he said I miss my friend.... and I didn't say a word.
I give up... it will just start all over again... he has been rather short tempered again... and I wondered... and only needing me to go help sometimes... like the water up on the hill... I am not going to make any comments since it won't do any good... he will never move on so ....

He just texted me and said he got the cow and calf in the pen, so will be hauling the second load... so that should be it...for that place. The one good thing is that, this is where that IDIOT cow is that takes off for the woods all the time... except now she is hungry... so he got her in the pen, feeding sq bales to them... with her bigger calf... so she can get sold... all according to what her status is... at least at the barn lots she can't go very far... and HAS to come to the lot right at the barn for water....
We still have cows at the big pasture.. and you cannot get in and out of there in the snow... road in is NOT safe to come out of there with a loaded trailer on snow...steep driveway, and it is a strain coming out on dry road with a full trailer load... low gear, 4wd........ so now he is going to have to keep hauling hay in there.. once he feeds out the rest that is there along the woods... BECAUSE they were supposed to be out of there before mid Dec..... for the very reason of the road in and out of there.... and there is no other way in and out of there and no way to get them closer to the road since all that land closer to the road, is not fenced along the woods and the hayfield... he's f###ing off work for over 6 months and can't get the cattle moved in a timely manner.... I'd mentioned it once or twice, that we needed to get them moved before we got any crummy weather...

There are 35 cows and calves in there... going to be more than 6 trips out with all them... maybe 7-8 as some of those calves are pretty big...
And we are supposed to get 1-6 inches tomorrow night/Sat morning...:duc:duc:duc:somad:somad:somad:he

I just ate some roasted chicken, stuffing, cranberry sauce and some yellow/zucc squash mixed, just boiled, with some butter...
I have felt alot better so this is not good....... going to go to bed very early... I really feel whipped.

Did get the paperwork done so that at least is ahead, when we do it tomorrow... I don't have to go looking... of course... it is going to take longer since we have to ear tag all the cows as well as vacc any that are bred and staying... it is not going to go very fast... I wonder if he asked her to help... at this point I don't even care... we really are going to need a third person... I can't catch in the head catch, vacc, write tags, and put in their ears, and write everything down...very fast by myself....and it is going to be COLD.....
D@%#.... doing this stuff in the miserable cold...

He just texted and said the last are finally loaded, and he is on the way to the barn with them... I don't know if he made 2 or 3 trips.... not my problem. It will be bad enough trying to get them in the barn tomorrow since this is a strange place to them....
Vet is at 10 I think.... not late enough for the sun to have warmed it up much yet...

It is already down to 17.
