This thread may not be very fun, I'm afraid. At the moment we only have two females bred.

Rita, if she took on her first breeding, is due any day now. She's showing premature signs. Her little tests have started to enlarge and she's slowing on appetite. DH called me frantically to the pen because she wouldn't eat thus evening. Got her up, a little discharge, and a dropped belly. If she's not in a false, we may have pigs in the morning.

Time will tell.

Toni - Currently in active, standing heat. Signs that Burr have covered her are all over her back and swollen vulva. I will count today as day one. Burr will be pulled from his ladies soon.

If Rita isn't bred, then she will be recycling now and that is what's causing the stomach upset. I will palpate her in the morning and check the milk line.

I have fallen a little behind in my pig watching... She could just be fat on table scraps. They've had LOTS of sweets and a fake milk line can be caused by fat deposits.

Pictures tomorrow of the two girls and their current sizes.

No other sows have been bred, and probably won't be right now due to time being taken up by work.

The girls palpated clean. In fact, I've got two very in heat sows teasing poor Burr.

He's got two new girlfriends. They just loooove him. Standing heat in pigs is fun.

1. Burr-meister!

They are incredibly hard to photograph because they're all such pocket hogs. Days like today when I have my phone out taking snap shots they're eating it.

I'm not positive, but I think they rebred February 20. Burr is still having trouble figuring out what to do with himself.

Also, I need to update their pictures.... Those pictures are from October or so and they're much bigger/more mature now.

We have a placenta. She's done. Looks like two tacos and one burrito, but I'll check again in the morning.

You know that old phrase listen to your guardian? The girls wouldn't stop barking. John went to go check out why after an hour of non-stop barking. Pigs! They're quiet now, glad that we checked.

Of course old man Titan helped assist in delivery.

We knew she was close, and she built a best yesterday. Rita is also working on a nest and sticking close to her sister.
