With the raised beds close, I'd put wood chips or shavings thick on ground between. No mow or clean up then! Smother grasses. ☺️. It'll look good, too.
I'm thinking about using pine straw for mulch. It's cheap, and won't drop seeds like straw does.

Found a second hose, connected it to the rainbarrel overflow hose. NOW I can reach the blueberry bushes and two of the raised beds with my soaker hose!

The green plants in the middle are Evening primroses, descendants of the ones my mom planted in her gardens.
:hugs
They will bloom in late April.

"Pine straw" ???? Pine needles maybe??? Great for the blueberries especially.... acidic in nature, even though as they decompose they will not affect the soil a great deal... but better than something that is more alkaline.
It's the same thing. They bale pine needles, sell them for mulch. It's clean, no trash or cones.

I love love love frogs. We had so many in our pond at our ranch in Murphys CA.

Up here, not many show up. Great job!!

I also love Iris, second to glads.
Irises, Gladiolus, Peonies, daffodils, tulips, dahlias, climbing roses, chrysanthemums......hollyhocks.... all the stuff that comes up year after year...
