I'm thinking about using pine straw for mulch. It's cheap, and won't drop seeds like straw does. With the raised beds close, I'd put wood chips or shavings thick on ground between. No mow or clean up then! Smother grasses.. It'll look good, too.
It's the same thing. They bale pine needles, sell them for mulch. It's clean, no trash or cones."Pine straw" ???? Pine needles maybe??? Great for the blueberries especially.... acidic in nature, even though as they decompose they will not affect the soil a great deal... but better than something that is more alkaline.
Irises, Gladiolus, Peonies, daffodils, tulips, dahlias, climbing roses, chrysanthemums......hollyhocks.... all the stuff that comes up year after year...I love love love frogs. We had so many in our pond at our ranch in Murphys CA.
Up here, not many show up. Great job!!
I also love Iris, second to glads.
