Thanks for the kind words.

They're planning on discharging Ron tomorrow, so I am running around trying to make sure we've got all our ducks chickens in a row!

This is cudweed, grows everywhere in the yard:

These are chickens devouring cudweed:

Why am I buying cabbage???

I'm frustrated.

Medical institutions have never been consistently efficient, not in my lifetime, probably never. But this recent experience has revealed to me how dysfunctional the system has become.

Everyone is "too busy" to help but I watch as they sit and talk, or stare at their phones.

Room has not been cleaned except for one damp mop. There are dried on spills on the floor, bits of trash under the bed, and the table used for food trays is sticky. I wiped it.

Toilet seat is dirty. I cleaned it.

Equipment, supplies are tossed into shifting piles on the cabinet. "Clean" linens, blankets, gowns are piled on the patient's reclining chair.

No tissues for wiping the face, nose.

No urinal bottle, had to grab the basin when Ron couldn't walk to the bathroom in time.

Now they are planning on discharging Ron today. They were supposed to arrange a walker, a toilet, and discuss if Ron needs a hospital type bed.

None of that has been done.

And Ron's new medicine regimen? Will they be providing those new meds since the hospital pharmacy is closed?

I'm going over to the hospital in a few. I need communication, information, and supplies, but after yesterday's experience with a new head nurse* I am anticipating a fight, of sorts.

I'm tired already, and not looking forward to it.

*After the wonderful head nurse experience on Monday he was suddenly transferred to another unit. He had told me that they weren't too busy to get Ron out of bed and taken for walks, just lazy. I think the staff complained about him. Nurse Ratchet was on duty yesterday, and she's going to get reported for her unprofessional conduct.
