Lifted the outer cover on both my hives today to check the sugar water levels... They've made a dent in both hives, but there was still maybe 1/4 left in each bottle in both hives, so I didn't mess with it. When I was lifting one of the 25 pound concrete blocks back on to the top of the outer cover, I hit the side of the top deep and knocked it 3/4s of the way off the hive!! Thankfully it didn't go all the way off and tear off the inner cover <WHEW!> I put it back in place and re-adjusted the feeder then covered it up again. My bees seem to be ultra forgiving! They were very busy coming and going today. Not sure it's time to remove the entrance reducer just yet... Think I'll give that a few more weeks. They didn't seem to be "clogging up" the entrance and were moving in and out with no issues. I really just enjoy going out there and watching them.
I'm beginning to wonder if I'm going to get any either. I have the super on, but they have virtually no stores in the hive. I'm leaving the super so they can take the honey as they need it.
