Hey, I am new, in the process of purchasing a home. I am hoping to keep an outdoor area for large breed rabbits, for fun, pets. They will be bedded down each night like chickens do. I keep house rabbits right now, and have two who have been with me for 6 years.

In doing my research for this project, I kind of happened upon the beautiful idea that a few chickens (hens) would do fine with large rabbits. I could have a chicken coop, bunny coop, and a shared run I think.

Just looking to learn as much as I can. This would all be just for my enjoyment. No business or breeding. Just want a small little herd of critters on my land. :)

I will also be getting a guardian type dog before any of this happens :)

Pictures of my "herd" of two...Aster and ChaCha are a father/daugher bonded duo. They are both fixed, and have lived free roam in my home all their lives. (7 years)

Welcome from Florida, we keep our FG rabbits in hutches 4 foot off the ground and the chickens are fenced in a area around them.that way no mites or anything can go from chicken to rabbit, the chickens take care of the rabbit droppings and we get great compost from all their hard work....best wishes to you and getting your new home, and setting things up :frow

First..:welcome second...you might want to consider a pit bull for a guard dog.
