My son in law is Swedish. I think it was his grandfather that immigrated to America. He found cousins on 23 and me and went to Sweden to meet them several years ago.
His last name is Jennische. Nobody ever pronounces it right the first time. LOL

It blows my mind that 25% of Sweden's total population emigrated to the USA between 1850 and the start of WW2. My country was a harsh place to live before political and economic change made it what it is today.

Jennische! That's pretty rare, and probably Germanic from the beginning. I only ever met one Swedish person with that name. Maybe it's a cousin :)
