I did a fecal test on my new saanen rescue,Sunshine.I did find eggs of some kind.Looks like either different stages or different types.I don't have enough experience to know.I hope someone or someones can help me ID them so I know what to treat her with more closely.I also see what I beleive is some type of worm.At first I thought they might be hairs but I got one and looked at it and its not the same. You can plainly see the grass/hay pieces in there.I hope these pics can help other people, too. Thanks for reading this.

Don't worry about any of the worm looking things. Only look at the eggs. I'm seeing Barberpole eggs for sure. How many did you count on the slide?

It looks like she has haemonchus (barberpole) for sure. The last pics COULD be lungworms but they are probably hair. I've only done a fecal a couple times and with the help of an experienced vet/ goat person. I hope someone even more experienced comes along.

Those are not Cocci eggs. You have to have an eye for them and they are MUCH smaller. They look almost like hard boiled eggs. What is in the are Barberpole eggs. You need to determine a count.

How much poop and how much solution did you use? How long did you let them float?

All worms are going to look alike unless you have a VERY good microscope and you can see the head of the worm. That's how you find out what kind of worm it is. You will not be able to tell what kind it is. And no that is not lung worm. I only see Barberpole in there.

Thanks so much.I think.I'm glad at least to know what I'm dealing with.I have read alittle about barberpole worms. Not enough for sure,I will be reading more. From what I remember they require aggressive treatments. You folks are gonna have to tell me want I gotta do and what to treat with.
As far as how many did I see.omg.lots.I didn't measure this sample but I have others so I kinda know how much of each.About 1 teaspoon of poo mixed in about 30 ml solution and after placing my slide on it I waited about 15-20 minutes. The one full pictured I posted I counted 8 in I think.I saw at least 7-8 times that many on the slide.Dang, now I'm getting scared. This little girl doesn't really act sick, but she looks awful.I have only looked at her eye lids 2 times.I don't have anything to go by with her. They are not white, just very light pink.I sure hope this little adventure of mine can help somebody.I just want this sweet girl to get well.:fl

If she is the white doe I saw earlier, yes, she is really sick. If she has lots of Barberpole eggs and worms then that could be a huge factor in her health condition. This is the most deadly worm for goats too. What I would do is worm her with Ivermectin at the rate or 1cc per 30 pounds body weight. Then again in 10 days and again 10 days later. You could also use Cydectin. I've never used it before though.
