Hi!
I am R, a 30 yr old married mama of 4 from New England. My kiddos are 7, 5, 3 and 1 and are homeschooled. I have been involved with cattle since the age of 13. I spent my teen years showing with my high school team. As soon as I was able, as an adult, I bought my own cows.
Currently we have:
1 10yr old Belted Galloway cow- Becky w/steer at side- Chuck
1 10 yr old Hereford cow- Lyric (due any week now)
1 6 yr old Guernsey- Butternut (due in May, handmilking her, will be dried off in the next month)
1 7 month old Dutch Belt- Honey Bee
6 Yorkshire X pigs (due to be butchered in Feb)
3 Turkeys- Rex (Bourbon Red), Paloma (Royal Palm) and Julia (Blue Slate)
a variety of heritage/rare chickens
3 ducks- a Cayuga X- Chocolate Milk and 2 Pekins, Cheese and Quackers
5 Jacob Sheep- Dory, w/8 month old wether Grimnir and Brooke, w/ 1 wk old twins Freja and Magni
2 Navojo/Scottish Blackface sheep, Chocolate w/ 1 wk old ram Rocket and Ruby, hopefully due soon
2 cats Thursday and Hey Jude
3 dogs- Mack (Rottie), Henry (Pittie) and Pixie (ACD/Blue Heeler)
We are interested in sustainable agriculture. We like to use herbal/natural remedies where possible as many of our animals are producing animals.
