Remember how we were “joking” about getting the goats first, then figure it out? Well umm..I was in the process in building and fencing, but I found what I needed, close to me. So I got 2 sweet babies. And I’m figuring it out lol
I did nearly the same thing. It makes life interesting when you are least prepared to do something. You are going to have quite the adventure now. Enjoy the ride. Don’t stress more than you absolutely need to. They will drive you crazy at times. This is what I started with. 9 brand new baby bucklings. Here they are. Only they were much smaller when I bought them.

I hear you. I ended up taking back one of the chicken coop/shed I built, and putting it down for the 2 babies. And I made a temporary pen around that. Hopefully with the extra light hour in the evening I will be able to finish things faster since I can do little everyday after work, compared to strictly weekends. Add to that they're bottle fed. All in all, it's under control so far :D

Greetings and welcome to BYH from Tn! So glad you joined us. Look around and see what interesting stuff you can find. You'll get to "meet" folks at the same time. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Oh, and we all love pics, so post them anytime you feel the need! Please make yourself at home!

PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. I recommend at least your state as most folks won't be able to figure out where if you put anything more specific (county, town, street, etc) by itself. Old folks like me :old will never remember from this post & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!
Welcome aboard!

Your welcome! If you have any questions, we have alot of very nice members that have experience in cattle, poultry, pigs, sheep, goats, and everything in between.
Check out the Random Ramblings forum, also. There you can post just about anything. I would recommend Latestarters Gripes and Grumbles, Cntryboy777's, anything by @Baymule, and @Devonviolet , @Mike CHS , to name a few.
If you have questions about LGD, @Southern by choice is a great source of information. @farmerjan is my go to about cows.
I could go on but there are so many people on here with a wealth of information, its hard to name them all!
