Why don't you consider east Texas?

I went to Liberty, TX and couldn't breathe to good cause of the high humidity. I plan on Coleman county with a tiny house on wheels on 12+ acres Lord willing.

Good grief, no wonder! Liberty county might as well be hanging on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico! We moved from Polk county (75 miles north of Houston and 2 hours to Galveston) and the humidity was thick enough to cut with a knife. Don't miss it. We moved to Smith county because our daughter, her husband and our 2 grand daughters live here. :love

What reason are you choosing Coleman county?

Baymule, 10-12k? Oh my, that'll make the backside pucker. I can't afford that, will use a catch system too and filter water for washing then more so for drinking. As you stated, hopefully their is a well on land with hand pump. I can install a 24DC submerged pump and run it from battery bank with solar.

In our area, you could dig a shallow well, but I don't know how good the water would be. There are springs all over the place here and lots of creeks. I have to have my pine trees. I love east Texas! Our place is 8 acres and a mix of pines and oaks. Our water bill is usually around $20-$30

Baymule, I spent a month over their and felt a lot better. Plus I have some friends there I've known for over 15 yrs. Been looking for land I can afford to buy, and raise my son.

Truck is running now after new fuel pump, injector washers replaced and injector caps, hoses and new O-rings. Now the alternator and breaks went out on the way home from town. Almost $400 for new alternator. We were stuck at my house in the drive after feeding and watering the animals, bald tires just slipped on the ice. Used cardboard, flake wood, floor mats and then laid down tow chains under rear tires to get traction after over an hour work. Anyways, need alternator so will reduce price to $500 and free shipping if not over $100. Will deal with breaks after charging system.

Thanks, JASTECH

Last winter after f&w, my son and I were leaving until I heard a "meow". My son said "Dad, its just the wind" as it was blowing a lot. I told him, no its not, that my hearing was very acute. So following the sound in the wind I came across the little kitten. When I reached to pick it up with large gloved hands it hissed at me and attempted to jump. It couldn't jump away as I seen then that it was frozen to my CJ-5's frame with 3 tiny paws. I had my son get a dog bowl and scoop warm water out of the cooler, I took off my gloves as not to scare the kitten too much then started pouring warm water on his stuck paws while he was drinking the water. After freeing the kitten I unzipped my winter coat and the kitten climbed in. I took him into the house and placed him in a crate with Fromm kitten food samples and warm water mixed. Here are some pics of the kitten. You can see his only unstuck paw is his left front.
