In fact, yes it does. I'm a parasite free garlic eater. Who knows how much ivermectin I've absorbed
Me too!Who knows how much ivermectin I've absorbed
At least for goats it's normal to always have some tapeworms. They have a soil mite as an intermediate host so it's rather difficult to completely get away from and rid of it. Some people say they're harmless, however I've found that if they're losing condition for no other reason or not growing well a wormer that completely kills tapeworms should be considered (for instance, not valbazen that only kills the heads). For us that has been a horse wormer. Sheep probably have something better available. We lost a buckling to what the necropsy decided was several large adult tapeworms obstructing digestion and sapping energy. They DO kill-just not usually.Misty has tape worms? That is super gross. I've never seen tapeworms before in the sheep. I will need to figure out treatment and dose everyone.
Wow - did not know that.not valbazen that only kills the heads
That's a bummer about your sheep will you give her another try next lambing season?Calc Fluor for prolapse? How does that work? I take it now, plus Calc phos and Silicea for my bones. I have used Calc fluoride to dissolve a bone spur before. Homeopathy remedies are amazing.
My ewe Specks had a hard birth yesterday, at least 3 weeks early and dead baby. I have a friend in school to become a homeopathic healer, she’s 1 year away from graduating. I need to ask her what remedy whole help Specks. Thanks for nudging my brain on this.
I hate tapeworms!
Natural sheep care, who wrote that book?
That is correctI think it was Pat Coleby? She writes on naturapathic care of animals... think she wrote some for cattle and other animals. Was a popular writer for some of the small animal/homesteader magazines.
@Margali this came out of Gwynn not Misty. I think it's a smart idea to treat your flock. Based on my research we believe she came to us with it. Once ingested it takes 1-2 weeks for them to develop into larvae, then 5-12 weeks before they reach maturity. That thing was HUGE wrapped around all through the poop I also read that lambs less than 8 months of age are particularly susceptible to heavy worm infections. I'm just glad the pumpkin helped her get it out, my intention was not to treat her for worms, I just wanted to give them a treat out of all the ewes she's the one who went to town with eating that pumpkin.Misty has tape worms? That is super gross. I've never seen tapeworms before in the sheep. I will need to figure out treatment and dose everyone.
Never heard of mango seeds, but I knew pumpkin was anti-parasitic. We just ordered oregano oil. My preferred method would be wormwood but can't give it to the pregnant ewes right now. I'll have to look into growing oregano, we also want to grow chicory. I love natural remedies.Pumpkin seed and mango seed both help....also garlic, oregano & wormwood. I keep oregano oil to use in chicken water or mix onto feed. It's an amazing herb, easy to grow.
