I'd have to get DH on board to hunt for water and put a well in. He doesn't think it will pay out (cost/savings/??).
Most of the wells here have a high salinity to the point our neighbor to the west, who has 7 ac of avocados, uses city water.
I have to run the water to clear all the hot water from hose and get to the cold water.
Having moved her from the midwest that's what I always did --- once here I tried that trick - annnnnnd the water never got cool. I laugh at that now.
I've got these really cool "stretchy" hoses - they expand when you turn the water on. So what comes out of the hose is not scalding hot. YAY -- just have to be sure to let the pressure out when you turn off the water.

We have a few of those, hubby thought they would be cool and useful. Except he tried to use one for the anti-deer motion sensor sprayer. Each time it resets and turns itself off because it stops sensing motion, the hose contracts and sends the stand flying. Hubby was not amused but I was cracking up. He had to change out the hose to a normal one.

Checked the squirrelinator this morning and there were 3 teenager squirrels in the trap. Dealt with them, reset the trap, and got a bunch of stuff done before having to start work. Checked the trap again this afternoon and there was a teenager squirrel and a big squirrel in the trap. Dealt with them and reset the trap again. Apparently the best bait for these squirrels is the rabbit feed, they didn't go after the fruit I set it up with originally. I think we're up to 7 squirrels total so far.

The in-laws are very jealous of the squirrelinator. I told them that I'd let them use it after I solve my squirrel problem.

Your in laws will use it, squirrels will multiply at your place and you’ll start all over again. Y’all can just trade back and forth. I’m glad it’s working for you!
They have a Ratinator they don't even have set out! :barnie My plan is to swap traps with them, see if I have any rats and get those removed and get the squirrelinator back if the ground squirrels start up again.

There's tiny mice in the garden, living in/under the plant pots. Smaller than a golf ball, maybe the size of a quarter? I spotted at least 4 when I was watering this morning, apparently I keep flooding their living zone. Bummer. Not sure how I'm going to get rid of those, I don't want to use glue traps because I only want to target the mice, but I don't think they are big enough to set off the mice traps I have.

Pics of happy squash/cucumbers. These will go out in the ground this weekend. They got started late, but I'm hoping they'll still produce something.

New (this year) canna lilly, just starting to bloom.

My pineapple guava coming back from the crispy fried dead! I did check the bark on one of the bigger trunk/branches and it still had a green underlayer so it might start leafing out higher up as well.

yeah, those teeny tiny mice - field mice. I've used a snap trap - while not perfect they do work pretty good.
