Hi all, I posted in BYC, but thought I'd post here too!
I bought some bantam chicks off of Ideal Poultry and was wondering if anyone could help ID them for me 😊
They are all hatchery choice clean leg bantams.
(#1 and #2 are 2 weeks old. #3 and #4 are less than a week old so maybe still too young to guess)

Without some idea of what they offer, it would just be a wild guess.
I'd say, wait till they are a little older?
So "hatchery choice" means they sent breeds that they don't have listed in their clean leg bantam section? I assumed they'd have to be breeds that the hatchery offers! Probably best to wait then lol thank you 😊

Usually means from any group that hatched & some weren't pre sold. Variety! ☺️. Really doesn't matter what breed, so long as healthy & you like when grown. Then you can add more.

@Mini Horses is right. They are chicks hatched, not presold, so they sell as Hatchery choice... What it means in the description is that they were not sold as a specific breed, and they did not offer them in another "hatchery special...
Ideal Hatchery and most others, do not keep the many many breeds of bantams they advertise... they contract out from different breeders for eggs, and then do the hatching etc.. Many are people that show so the bantams are purebred, but not guaranteed to be show quality, although you can get some nice ones. It will be hard to identify at that small stage. Even first true feathers can be tricky, as later moults might them change more.
One clue... do any have really really short legs ? They would be Japanese Bantams. Also, leg color can give some away. American breeds, plymouth rock, NH, leghorns, all have yellow legs... English breeds like Orpingtons, Sussex, have whiter legs... O. E. Game bantams usually have darker colored in the darker colors.... Single comb or rose comb on the head? Lot's to "guess from"....
