Yep.. bathroom, hallway, closet windows start at just above breast height. I gotta say, I like that!!
Functional for that purpose but I wonder about emergency fire exits?

I have a pony wall when you enter the master, so that the mess I KNEW spouse would put on the dresser top is not seen when you enter the room.
Perfect place to put even more stuff! My spouse definitely would fill it with clutter. She used to pile up the dining room table. Now I put her mail on her rocking chair in the kitchen so the piles are on the counter and floor there instead.

To show the screw placement on my pocket doors. The screws are on the top board that holds the door in place. NOT on the decorative trim that goes around the door opening.

I think the proper term is the "header trim"

Make sure you click on the picture to make it bigger... or you will not be able to see.
That is what I did in my prior home. And will do if I ever get around to putting trim on the pocket door in the master bedroom here. Pull a few screws and no problem accessing the door hardware.

Alexa has been known to record and play back private information. I think they were supposed to be fixing that, but I don't trust Alexa.
No one named Alexa here. Or Siri. Nor will there ever be.

Got some work done while ignoring my emotions. Bought and unloaded 2 rolls of hay. Finished the ram shed and drug it to the corral pen. I need to tpost it in place before it's ready for use.
