Maybe the bad will have a good ending.Well here comes the bad!
My laptop has been having speaker, mic, and Bluetooth issues for months. Monday at end of Teams meeting using Bluetooth headset, I thought I ended call and powered off headset when I set it on desk. Apparently it was still transmitting. There were 5 co-works and one contractor in meeting. A co-worker said meeting on his end froze and he couldn’t hang up or talk. So headset transmitted my muttering to myself about “a contractor who can’t read English” to the meeting. That coworker said it was faint enough he couldn’t figure who I was talking to or exact words. Another co-worker reported the contractor in meeting was chuckling “amused by my but dial”.
But a third FLAMMING! A$$ reported me to HR as “yelling derogatory things to contractor and damaging our relationships with them”. I now a formal written warning about “my behavior”. Since apparently cross-checking before blaming is unheard of. And no one in the age of COVID and video meetings EVER has a tech oops.
This is same boss who gave me a “memo of conversation” since I did not provide feedback on Friday from meeting Thursday where it was stated that I would have “a couple of days” to provide answer. I sent it Monday at end time of Thursday meeting.
...I am current refusing to use my laptop for Teams meetings since it is unreliable with Bluetooth. The poor IT guy is very confused about switch from putting up with laptops’ ongoing issues. And I am recording every dang meeting with Boss Stupid. Texas is a 1-party state so it’s legal.
