Ya know....the absolute prettiest kids born here are ALWAYS boys.

Just not fair, is it???

Congrats on the 2 healthy boys, though.:)

Aw thanks guys! Nice to get compliments from other goat people. I mean of course the neighbors are enthralled...but that's because city goats are somewhat of a rarity...though they are becoming ever more popular!!!

More photos, because I can...and because my facebook friends are starting to get annoyed...

I didn't know goats were allowed in the city...probably depends on the area, right? I would love to have a milk goat...

Boys are growing up! Absolutely gorgeous color pattern.

Genifer: If you really want a milk goat, check out the zoning laws of your township.

Unfortunately where I live, there are no livestock allowed. And you are only allowed to have several dogs and a few cats. Plus you need to make sure you pay for their licenses or if not the animal police comes around once a year and tickets those with dogs (township government has a soft spot for cats and they get a free ride) and then court costs come into play. Township government has to get revenue plus tells you what you can have or what you can't have or limits you. Kind of like having a Nanny. But a Nanny with favorites if you get my drift. I'm not one of those favorites...Oh well. Truth hurts. :plbb

Anyway, check your laws, you could be a goat owner in no time. :thumbsup

Looks like the town we're planning on moving to this month allows for goats, but they have to be registered with Animal Control. It was a slightly amusing conversation:

Me: "Are goats allowed in the city?"
Animal Control: "Um, like a pet?"
Me: "No, a milk goat. As livestock."
AC: "Uh, I don't know...let me ask..."

pause

AC: "Yes but they need to be registered like a dog and we don't know how much that costs so here's a number..."

So now I'm trying to get ahold of the county to find out how much a "goat" tag costs.

If all goes well and we can find a rental with a backyard that allows pets (I'll just name the goat DOG and slip it in. I want a Nigerian Dwarf and they're not much bigger than a large dog, right??) then I should be able to get our family a milk goat (ahem, or two).
