Better than nothing, but not good enough. That wire wheel will be spinning at high speed, throwing rust, scale, dirt and metal particles. Possibly a loose wire or two. All of that can fly up in your face and get behind those glasses. Goggles fit snugly on your face to prevent particles from getting to your eyes.I have safety glasses.

No face shield? A mask/bandana is better than nothing.Safety glasses plus a face shield would be ok, but you probably don’t have one. More than likely buying safety goggles would be cheaper than buying a face shield.

Got to be able to see. My issue with safety glasses is with using a wire wheel on a drill, high speed flinging rust and metal particles everywhere. Safety glasses are not sealed against the face. Used with a face shield, safety glasses would be ok.No face shield? A mask/bandana is better than nothing.
You are welcome. I worked in welding and machine shops and safety was paramount. The last job I had, I held safety meetings.Appreciate the information!
