Question -- does the new washer have a center post? When I was shopping several yrs back, I found they were leaving those out 😳 some had fins on side, some not. That's not unusual for front load but these were top loads. Curious. 😉

Obviously a bend. I'd grab it and hang, hoping body weight would rebend. 😂
Yes, it does!

So, I should "monkey bars" the hoop? :D =D

Make sure you put the painted grooved side out to the weather... it is designed to be "out" ... the back is not treated to withstand the elements and will come apart in the rain etc...
Thank you. I realized that after I took the picture, but never mind receiving input from others!
:pop

Oh, and I am planning to stain it once the back is finished.

Before I start marking and cutting wood I was thinking about trying to get a more uniform arch.
I was thinking, I could attach the roost to help keep the bend where I want it. I used plumbing straps to mount the roost on the other coop.
:caf

I was about to head outside but my cat decided to be a lapcat right now, and it's only 44° outside...

My sheep hoop shelter leans to one side because they had a party on it and smushed one side flat. I pulled it back up with tractor, but it definitely leans.

On building a hoop, never had a leaning one. How wide is yours? Mine are always at least 8 feet, latest one is 9 feet.

Here's the good and the bad from today...you get to see all my mistakes and adaptations when I share my build!

After almost three hours outside I think (hope!) I have a better idea of what I am trying to do.

I decided to not put up the roost yet, as I would have to be ducking under and around it. I would figure out a better way to adjust the hoop curve.

I looked inside my big shed, and noticed that every place where the siding panels were joined there was a 2x4 to anchor them to.

Being creative in order to get a plumb upright support.

Close enough.

For some reason attaching the upright directly to the horizontal frame didn't occur to me. I may remove the screws and redo it to get the added strength. We'll see.

I put the panels up, made sure they were positioned to overlap properly, then attached them to the upright support with a couple screws and washers. I drew my cut line and then took down the panels until I am ready to cut them.

I have assorted lengths of lumber to use for bracing the siding on the inside.

I don't think it ever got above 44° but where I was working I was sheltered from most of the wind, so it wasn't too bad.

The frame is 8' x 16'. My other hoop coop doesn't lean, now, but it needed adjustment as well. The ground is not level, may have something to do with it?

Yeah, probably. Level is a good place to start. You might need to put some dirt under the low side.
Scrap my thought, the frame is level. I went out this morning to thaw the waterers and took a level with me. The base supports are within the lines level.

I plan to remove the upright and redo it. I have a phone appointment with Social Security about my husband's case later this morning, so I'll go outside after.

It's plumb.
