We have been members over at BYC for awhile now, but just ventured into the world of Nigerian Dwarf Goats about a month ago... and quickly grew our herd to include 7 goats! One wether, one doe is in milk, three does are bred, and we have two doelings that are almost 2 months old! Nothing like jumping in! But, it keeps my husband busy and helps with his PTSD he has from serving in Iraq several years.

Between the chickens, dogs, goats, and kids... and myself... we keep him pretty busy to help him out!! When we have the three does kid in a few months, will keep him even more busy when we are milking 4 of them!!! Then onto the adventure of making soap and lotion since selling the raw milk is kinda illegal for us here in Michigan!

Good to see more Michigan members on here.

Goat shares ARE legal in Michigan (although sales for pet consumption are illegal). Aged cheeses are also OK for farmer's markets, must be aged for 60 days.

I haven't been to Shaftsburg, but I've been through Perry and down M-52 that way. Pretty area.
