:frow :welcome !!!

It's so nice to have you join us here on BYH !

You aren't the first one to join BYH with no livestock in your barnyard. When,I joined, the only animals we owned were two sweet house cats, that we brought from PA, when we moved to TX six months earlier.

As we learned from perusing the site, we eventually gained the confidence to buy chickens, and livestock guardian dogs (LGDs). And we're blessed with four sweet wethered Nigerian Dwarf goats.

And then, we finally got the courage to buy a couple pregnant dairy goats, so I can start milking them, to make goat's milk cheese, butter & sour cream.

So, you've come to the right place. Keep looking around and comment or ask questions. You'll find that we are a friendly lot, who love to help others succeed.

Welcome from NW Mississippi!....:frow
We have goats, chickens, ducks, and cats....no Bears. Sorry to hear about the loss of your chickens. Predators sure can pose a difficult challenge. Some electricfied wires could really help ya out with them. There are a few members here from NH and Vt so they can share what they face there too.
Again....:welcome

I don't want to talk about bears. I lost a lot of feed to bears last year. Fortunately no animals though. Our neighbors had a mini horse killed by a bear several years ago. I don't like bears.
