Loving the herd life
Ok, so this may come as a shock to all you experts on here, but that's why I am on here. For the first time in my life, I own a pregnant doe. She will be kidding in March (but I dont know exactly when in March :/ ) so I want to make sure I have a good "plan" for prenatal care for my goat. Any advice or suggestions on my plan or on just kidding goats in general, is greatly appreciated.
So here is my plan:
50 days before kidding:
-give her a hoof trim (I don't only trim her hooves at this point but this is a reminder to have a recent trim before she kids)
-allow free choice minerals, yeast culture (even though I already do this)
-worm with Ivomec Plus, orally
6 weeks before kidding:
-give 1 lb. grain daily until she kids (because she is a nubian)
5/4 weeks before:
-shot of BoSe
-CD&T vaccination
3 weeks before:
-add dried beet pulp to daily share of grain
2 weeks before:
-Booster shot of BoSe
1 week before kidding:
-Clean out kidding pen
-Make sure my "birthing kit" is ready/supplies I might need when my doe is kidding (Although I will have this ready sooner, this is a reminder to double check everything)
