This was her first litter, the other female was being aggressive with the mom, so we decided to err on the side of caution and we moved mom and babies to protect our investment. Also, makes it easier for us to deal with one adult while checking the babies. I do not have to keep multiple pigs in sight as I am working with the babies.

Oh i thought you had said you were told they would kill the babies.

No, we moved them to make it easier on us and out of caution because the other female was being aggressive with mom. Our Boar was having to starting to stress.

They rooted the pen they are in currently bare. We are working on another pen to move them into soon. It is being held up bu the tractor blowing a water pump.

Pigs root. It's what they do. Even the Kune Kune pigs that aren't supposed to root will if left in the same pen for too long. A man around the corner from us has Kune Kune pigs, he doesn't rotate them and their pen is bare dirt.

Our mutt pigs rooted one far away corner of the small pasture but the other livestock had eaten all the grass down to nothing already. The amount they rooted is maybe 12ft by 5 ft and thats all they bothered to do, thats from six 300-600lb adult pigs over about 2 days. Once we move we will be making them more pasture area.
