The pain and tiredness you deal with is enough to get anybody down-even you. You are my hero. Such an adventurer all your life, fearless and free. Your body fails you, but you don’t quit.
I’m glad you have Fen to help you and keep you amused. Getting to go ride brought your spirits back up. Freedom!
Thank you for your encouragement! It means more than you might think

Chicks will arrive in a few days. I’m a tad stressed out as I really can’t afford to lose all our poultry again but have no idea how to keep them safe once they are out of the brooder as Randy hasn’t done ANYTHING about repairing the coop. There is no longer a roof on the run, I’m clearly going to have to clean it all out myself in spite of the pain it will cause. I just can’t believe he let it go without ever cleaning it, even once! It’s very discouraging. I love the man but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to slap the sh*t out of him!!

The new LGD pup won’t even get here until December. I’m hoping proximity to the coop will deter predators but it won’t help a bit if the raptors and raccoons can just waltz in and help themselves.

Losing a day to recovery from trip to town feels like it has put me weeks further behind and not just a day. I need to finish the stained glass piece, like, a month ago. It’s getting to me. I definitely need to find something that will fix my bad attitude today. It ain’t gonna be riding, I’m afraid. I need to come up with a plan and a list. The only way out is through, so I need to quit trying to tread water and start swimming like hell. 😖

Just do one thing until it's done. One little thing to start and don't let other things (except a rejuvenating ride) get in the way. .....one..... thing,,,,, at....... a..... time

Exactly!!!
This has gotten me moving when depression has me stuck. Can't clean the whole room? Clean off the coffee table or straighten the pillows on the sofa & chairs. Can't clean the whole kitchen? Wash 1 sinkfull of dishes or put away the pile in the drainer. Can't mow the whole yard? Mow just the edges of the driveway. Sometimes one managable task can lead to a few more.
Of course, I'm not dealing with as much of the physical side of things as you are.

Bahaha! All good plans. I have been using pick and shovel to take out a manure bucketful a day. By the time I do, my back is pretty much done for the day. He promised to remove the wasp nests and spiderwwbs tonight. Those suckers are aggressive and mean. It’s bad enough mosquitoes are biting me through my clothes!! I even have welts on my butt and backs of my thighs :ep
I’m desperate enough to think everything east of the rabbit cages has to go to dump so i can bring the 4x8 growout cage in. There’s just not enough room in current cages for rabid to kindle. I may have to put chickens on other side because the coop/run no longer has a roof…wish I could climb up there like @Baymule and put on a new one. I have the 14’ metal roofing we bought that he never put on my shed, which consequently has now completely rotted and is taken over by yet more wasps…been waiting 13 years for him to do the roof :barnie
I MIGHT be able to put them in the hoop greenhouse that isn’t much to put up. It’s only 6x12 but it’s shelter… decisions, decisions…I seem to make a lot of those while sitting on my ass in the couch…it’s sort of a gift of mine…🙄 seems the only big downside to that, besides not having use of my greenhouse is the dogs. Neither will be mature enough to be loose around chickens
Fen is not the unicorn that Heath was. At 3 mo old, Heath was gently herding the meatie chickens into the coop at night, one at a time.
I had just one with a deformity and everyday he carried it in his mouth, gently and brought it to me like he expected me to fix it. As he was ny first English Shepherd, I didn’t realize how truly special he was. I knew he was amazing but didn’t realize the whole breed was not like him. My heart still hurts everytime I think of him.
Fen is the opposite end of the scale. He would capture them, then torture them.
I was truly surprised though, last time I went riding, when he herded all the leppie calves into the alleyway. He did it like a pro. He has a lot of good qualities. Too bad he’s crooked legged behind. I don’t know who would want to breed to a cowhocked sheppie, even a brilliant one. His coat is LUXURIOUS. He’s nothing like the Heathen. But I do love the little rascal. He ate my glasses this morning. And Randy’s prescription strength bottle of D3. He spit the pills back out. They were sticky. I put them in another bottle. TheMan will never know.
Took my Adderall this morning. Hopefully I will wake up as the dang fatigue has me in its grip again, although I did get the rabids taken care of.
Hoping I can finish the stained glass piece without having to buy a new soldering iron. I only have 6 more pieces to copper foil then I can solder everything and be done with it, hopefully BEFORE the baby comes.

We’ll see what today brings. I also have to let customers know the comfrey salve is ready to ship. That’s taken forever and I don’t even know what to charge. I guess $15 would cover my costs and shipping. There’s more comfrey to harvest, I already have prickly lettuce in the dehydrator and need to deal with it first. I’m a little overwhelmed. I needed your advice.
Prioritize. Yup. Make a list. Do it today.
