I've ended up using a dremel tool and for whatever reason that's usually tolerated more than the clippers.
Probably the pressure of clippers...and how it transfers to the toe, not just the nail. While the Dremel is far less feel factor. A little noise and easy feeling, like a rub or slight trimble feel.

Other friends I know (face to face friends as well as online) with SDs have either groomers or vets that do this free. Yeah - I was wondering about a stranger trying to do that - but he's young and you could try and just say stop if you don't like anything. Worth a phone call to see if it's offered and go from there.
For my dogs that need it (thank God some don't ever seem to need it done) I've ended up using a dremel tool and for whatever reason that's usually tolerated more than the clippers.
I have a dremel and he won’t let me close. I spent weeks with a clicker and treats. He will touch it with his snoot but if it gets close to his feet, he’s outta here

Tried to help damn rabid because her kits were smothering her in the heat. I was going to put her in her own cage in the shade of the vine covered arch when she decided to eviscerate me. These get deeper as they tear down the length of my breast and onto my bleeding stomach. Needless to say, the first day I feel strong enough, will be her last.

I had been debating what to do about her as I need to cull some and she always had big litters. She made this decision easy 🤬

I didn’t even notice she got my arm too…witch. She literally tore holes in my shirt! And I was holding her nicely when she started!

I can’t hardly stand to wear a shirt and bra is out of the question!!

Made this tonight. SO good! Really made it easier and Randy went nuts over it. Only thing I did different was using bacon grease instead of seed oil and wow is it good!
Would work with chicken too

Fried Rabbit

Dinner, Rabbit

Ingredients:
1 rabbit, washed and cut up (number of pieces depends on size of rabbit)
water
1 tsp.salt
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. pepper
butter
oil

Directions:
Lightly salt rabbit and place in a pressure cooker with enough water for cooker and size of rabbit ( 2 + cups for 3 lb. rabbit in 6 qt. cooker).
Cook at 15 lb. pressure for approximately 25 minutes until tender and at thoroughly cooked.
Mix flour, salt and pepper in a bowl or plastic zip bag.
When rabbit is cool enough to handle, dredge rabbit in flour mixture.
Heat 1/2 to 1 inch deep of butter and oil in a large, heavy skillet (cast iron works great).
Add rabbit, leaving space between each piece not to overcrowd skillet.
Fry on each side until brown and crisp.
Remove from pan and drain on towels and/or rack.
Repeat, if necessary, until all pieces are fried.
