Got waffles made for breakfast this morning, but only because most of it is done the night before. Best Belgian waffles ever though.
Sourdough Waffles
★★★★★
Breads, Breakfasts, Sourdough

Ingredients:
overnight sponge
● 2 cups Unbleached All-Purpose Flour (FMF works well too)
● 2 tbsp. sugar
● 2 cups buttermilk
● 1 cup sourdough starter, unfed

batter
● all of the overnight sponge
● 2 large eggs
● 1/4 cup vegetable oil or melted butter ● 3/4 tsp. salt
● 1 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
1) To make the overnight sponge, stir down your refrigerated starter, and remove 1 cup.
2) In a large mixing bowl, stir together the 1 cup starter, flour, sugar, and buttermilk.
3) Cover and let rest at room temperature overnight.
Next morning:
4) In a small bowl or mixing cup, beat together the eggs, and oil or butter. Add to the overnight sponge.
5) Add the salt and baking soda, stirring to combine. The batter will bubble.
6) Pour batter onto your preheated, greased waffle iron, and bake according to the manufacturer's instructions.
7) Serve waffles immediately

That seems to have used up all my proverbial “spoons”. My back and insides hurt too much for me to do much more. It’s sunny and I was hoping to process Rabbits today that’s not gonna happen.

I did slice up a deer liver for the bois and got it into the dehydrator

Tomorrow is Derma day. They are supposed to discover the nargins of the cancer before excising it. It’s now only about 1/16 of an inch, whereas before it was more than 3”. I have no idea how deep in the skin it goes nor how deep the Ivermectin killed it.

We will be leaving Boone behind. Knowing it is the right thing to do doesn’t make it any easier. I would have to lock him in with Mister as Fen needs to be able to go out back to potty, but they can’t be alone together unsupervised, as Boone doesn’t always respect Fen’s signals when he says “no”and it’s too easy for Boone to accidentally injure Fen in play.
There is nowhere for Boone to get out of the mud and snow except to share space with Mister in his loafing area, which I’m not sure Mister wants to share.
The other option is to take Fen with us even though he hates it, so Boone can have the backyard. Fen didn’t mind terribly as long as I didn’t take him away from Randy, and having either one of the dogs around me does seem to help settle my nerves so the anxiety doesn’t get too out of control. I guess we’ll give that a try and if it doesn’t put undue stress on Fenny, we can just continue in that vein and not ask him to task for me. I hate being in this position, living this far from town. It’s almost impossible to train a service dog for public access, as I need frequent short trips, which is impossible, and getting assistance is also not possible.
Again, my heart breaks because I miss Heathen so badly. I always felt so confident when he was with me. We road tripped together and saw family and friends and I felt…whole. Losing him was the hardest thing I have ever had to survive

Fen needs a bath so we’ll make use of the walk-in tub tonight. I hope he’s happier
about being with us than he was last trip. He’s sad if he’s left behind, he’s upset if he comes. He’s a tough one to please.
I locked Boone out back at lunch and Fen enjoyed his pupsicle uninterrupted. I think we will start making lunchtime a dedicated Fen hour. He loves to play with Boone but Boone can tend to bully him if he thinks I’m not paying attention.
I pray all goes well tomorrow for me, for Fen, and for Boone, left behind. .

High winds, blowing snow, chain requirements for the entire 189 miles to town, I cancelled after we got everything into the truck. My nerves couldn’t take it, I could barely find my way back to the house as the snow had already filled up my footsteps . The snow pushed the pressure lock off one of the cages and 3 rabbits are wandering loose somewhere
Now, after canceling everything and getting breakfast made, dishes done, sun is out. 🫤
