One of the married ranch triplets wanted to know if they could put some chickens in with ours. They said they would get 6 for them and 3 for us (we have 3 hens already) I told Randy they’d have to be separated awhile until they accepted each other.
What I didn’t know, is they got chicks, not hens. And guess who is supposed to raise them??
So Randy brings in 9 hungry thirsty chicks in a rubber tub. No food. No water. (They had no food for close to 2 days, but I guess they put some water in the bathroom last night where they kept them.
I put them in an empty rabbit cage, ground up some oats and all flock pellets into meal with a little cornmeal and a HB egg yolk. They are going to town. I hope they do okay on that grind until I can get them proper food! They look to be about a week old, partly feathered. I can’t believe these people were raised in ranches and never raised chickens!! 🐓 WTH? 🤦🏻‍♀️ 😬
Boone is thrilled having them “upstairs”
