That’s what I was thinking.Could you borrow one of those new cowboys to roof your coop???
Nobody ever helps each other on that place?

Not really. They put in really long hours 7 days a week, only taking days off to go to town. It’s one of the things I really dislike about living here…that, and I never seeThat’s what I was thinking.

It’s pretty much what you envision. There are 4 small cabins that hold a bed and dresser and a bit larger one that also has a mini kitchen and toilet. There is another building called the Bullpen with a communal toilet, shower and washer/dryer for the cowboys where they can gather to drink beer and play cards. They eat at boss’ house. I used to feed crew until my health went south. We live in the old cookshack. Is there a bunkhouse situation for the cowboys? Do they have a chow hall or what? I envision a cattle ranch & Old West life. Apparently you & hubs have an on ranch house and some area to use as you
desire?
It’s definitely a step into the past! There is a hot springs on the S end of the ranch. Years ago, they put in 2 large cement pools because the cook refused to feed the hay crew unless they bathed at least once a week. So the Hot Springs was born. So many people cut the fences to go in and use it, the boss decided to just commercialize it so they put in a little building with an office and toilet and hired someone to collect the fees. It’s pretty popular.Wow, I didn't know anything like that was still operational. Very unique. A part of history really. Reminds me of the ghost towns traveling out west years ago. I appreciate the lifestyle it requires. Preparations and make do or do without times
Still having a hard time "accepting" the distances you have to everything, in todays atmosphere of "now" life. But I can also relate as grandparents lived several miles from anything and no vehicle. All in all probably felt about the same.
Hope your coops, chicks and rabbits all cooperate!. Maybe a ride on Mister will happen.
