It’s nice having a stove and washing machine again! I made Randy a shepherd pie for dinner. I also sewed all his pockets back in his work shirts. Did some laundry, and stayed busy all day.
Fen came out with me to play with the ranch dogs. He suddenly skidded through the door into the laundry room, out of breath, looking over his shoulder. Little A$$hole dog was out front. I’m glad he came to me for safe harbor. We stepped out and he opened the front door and went in. My focus is going to be on Fen going over his threshold. He did well today. After I checked out everything that set him off , I was able to both reassure him it was all right and soothe him. i was able to redirect him. Hopefully this will result in his dealing with things better.

We newd a backsplash. Bread spread out a bit as it sat in bucket almost 2 weeks. But it turned out pretty tasty, and TheMan ate most if it and sasx wants me to make 9 loaves as Christmas gifts. 😳

Yay for stove and washing machine! Two rather important items in the house! But only if you like eating and wearing clean clothes!

Treat Fen like an alphabet dog, you know,
ADDHD, ESP, OCD, and Asperger’s, Autistic,
Defiant Disorder, Anxiety, Psychosis. All this time you’ve been treating him like a responsible adult dog and he’s a wacko. So treating him like a 4th greader with every behavior disorder there is, just might work!

Last night’s conversation…

Randy: “Did we buy anything sweet to eat?”
Me: “I think I was supposed to make something…”
Randy: “Yeah! You were supposed to make cookies and pie!”
Me: “I made you chili.”
Randy: “But that’s not sweet!”
Me:”It was sweet of me…”

I made it out to feed rabids and chicken nuggets. Ms Brown (doe that had 9 babies in wire then ate them…) looks like she will be motherly this time around. She has her box so stuffed full of hay there’s no room for her! She’s not due till the 18th or so. Stupid me forgot to write it down.
The nuggets spend their days in the big garden with pig. He churns everything up, rooting around and I think they benefit from finding treasures in the loosened soil. Once inside the garden fence they are safe from Fen’s bossy behavior. No eggs yet but I expect some soon as they are 5 mo old now and so I hope in the next month or so.
It’s a small thing for most, but a large effort for me to go out and take care of them with my body constantly working against me, so I feel like I accomplished something.

I made a loaf of no-knead bread using all the dough in the bucket, letting it rest in my banneton. It took an hour to bake it but TheMan is thrilled with the result. It’s nice to be baking bread again. Today I need to make cookies. My mind is scattered but hopefully I will function enough to get things done.

Ordered some wall paper for behind the stove. I am anxious today and miss Heath terribly. Fen just isn’t attached enough to help me through this. Heath picked up on it instantly and responded. Hoping I can try for another prospect next year. I really need the help.
It’s been so much easier to get things done with the pantry organized. It makes me feel happy. 😊
I keep begging Randy to get the rest of the shelves up. The wood is sitting on the back porch but so far, he hasn’t done it. Time to get bitchy and nag him. I hate doing that but he doesn’t respond unless I have a breakdown. It sucks. …

…”think on these things, whatever is pure, whatever is noble…”

Rabids and nuggets fed. Nuggets locked up today because Pig screwed up the fence so they can walk under. It wouldn’t take but a minute for all the ranch dogs to pounce and kill them all. Not taking the risk.
Making cookies today cuz the butter never softened the other day.
Boss has several beeves at butcher. I called to request the livers, green tripe, kidneys etc. for the dogs and was told “we don’t do that. We already threw all that stuff out” 🤬
You would think if you raised a beef and paying for custom cut you should be a le to have the parts you need grrrrrr

When the beef goes to butcher here, I make sure that DS knows that if the people who are getting them don't want any parts, that I want them all..... tongue, livers, hearts ... ANYTHING I can get back... including the backbones and all other bones I can get... There is NO EXCUSE for a butcher to throw out any parts that are legally not allowed to be returned (backbones, spinal cord, brains etc on anything over 30 months due to the federal rules on possible BSE prions) .... BUT.... I have to make sure that this is told to them when the animal goes in.... or else all the "guts" goes in barrels for the rendering company that picks it up...
Sorry that you did not get what you wanted... and nowadays these butchers are not into the use of the "organ meats" and the other stuff.... not like the "old ways" of using all the parts of an animal... including bones for buttons and such....even have to make sure I get back any extra fat for rendering down and such....suet for the birds.....sure is cheaper than the store bought stuff... add seeds and it's worth $2 to $5 for each of those suet blocks.....

Yrs back, I told the butcher i wanted "everything". Picked up that hog & first box I opened had the head looking back at me. 🤣🤣. BUT dogs, cats, chickens, people can & should use it all. Stock, lard, food. So much is useable and wasted. It's yours, claim it!

Sorry you didn't get to tell them "up front".
