The other thing is, it wakes me up to take a pain pill so I am more prepared to face the day
OK, Fen is off the hook for that one then. ~perhaps he knows you need or will need the pain pill and wakes you up. You see it as he wants to eat (well he does, but ya' know he always does).

Had a decent day thanks to Fen.
Was able to feed with Randy’s help
Mister is holding his own. The edema has actually gone down in his chest and is settled in his belly and hind legs. I hope to be able to walk him tomorrow and see if it helps him some. He’s been cheerful and meeting us at the gate and his appetite is good.
Every day now is a gift.
Boone is now bringing me stuff 😝
There’s a lot to be said for positive reinforcement training.
He was punky most of the day, most likely from 1. His shots 2. Walking all over Burns yesterday 3. He’s growing really fast.
He’s amazing. My Maremmas were smart but they were full time LGDs until I had to sell my sheep and retire them, so I only did the most basic training on them, but their problem solving skills were incredible.
Fen was so different yesterday. It’s like his brain has clicked and I can see how smart he is. I thought I had posted here but maybe I forgot to hit the button.
Not long after getting up, Fen started alarm barking which he has not done before. He ran into the house, straight to me, talking. I got my shoes and. a flashlight and Fen, Boone and myself ran out to find a raccoon. He ambled off but Fen got a field promotion to General Manager, which he’s pretty pleased with as it comes with a pay raise.
Boone sleeps outside but he’s too young to do much. The coons will be back for my chickens, rabbits but I don’t think they can get to it. The coop has chicken wire but the bottom 4 ft is field fence and it had a tin roof, so hopefully they are safe. I need a pellet gun. All I have is my glock to deter them and I’m not sure I can rack the slide anymore.

Looking forward to Boone cuddles in the morning. He seems to like it as much as I do 🥰

Boone is getting a real good start. Fen is a hero on alerting on the coin.

I hope you and Mister have good days for as many as you can. He is your heart horse and I truly understand. He will let you know when it is time or hopefully he will just lay down for a little rest and not wake up. Big hugs.

Mister is making a miraculous recovery!! The cowboys were all offering to help put him down because we were all sure he wouldn’t make it more than a couple of days.
I don’t need to go out and walk him as he’s buzzing around the pasture on his own. He was begging for cookies, let me clean his feet out, his back legs are super stocked up and sore so he could only cock his leg and I had to pick out the bottom of his hoof with his toe on the ground, but he has lots of energy and is feeling good. The edema is way, way down!!

Mr keeps rallying. He is showing a little age for the first time, he has some extra gray around his eyes and has lost a bit of weight and condition

They brought Wimpy in with the cavvy. Fen and I had taken a walk and saw him. He looks older than Mister but he’s several years younger. Something happened to his front teeth. They barely come out the gumline. It’s like what you find on a stump sucker but he has spent his life out with the cavvy in a several hundred acre pasture. There’s nothing to pull back on, plus why would he develop the habit when he’s 20? There is no thickening of his throatlatch either. Its more like all his teeth got kicked and are just growing back out but I don’t think that is possible…

It’s supposed to snow today. That means I will probably have some degree of extra pain. But I’ve had awful gut pain, back pain and side ache. Praying its will resolve itself and is not my appendix. I still have them and my tonsils. I seriously never got sick but maybe 8 times in my life-10 at the outside. I was the absolute picture of health
Welp, that was clearly another lifetime. Now I feel like old, holey skivvies 😂

At any rate, I got this “grounding pillowcase” for Randy, as he gets terrible, terrible cramps that make him wake up screaming and his knees and hips plus one shoulder are all wore out. I heard the sheets help with pain, but all we can afford is the pillowcase. I’m an insomniac. Pain and/or itching keeps me awake almost night. Even muscle relaxers or sleeping pills don’t help. Besides, I already have to take too many meds. I am trying to replace all I can, but I digress..This pillowcase is the real deal. I have to fight to wake up. Only when the pain is really severe can I drag myself up. Weird because none of the reviews mention this being a problem ..maybe it wants me to make up for lost time

I never heard of a grounding sheet, I looked it up. It sounds interesting. I hope it is helping you.

For Randy’s cramps, get a bottle of Theraworx. It gives instant relief.

Joint replacement is SO worth it. My husband had a knee, shoulder and hip replacement. I’ve had a knee replacement. It’s life changing.

Does the ranch offer insurance? Or do y’all have to wait on Medicare?
