Well, it was a surprise that we had a litter in the first place. (One of our little Mini Rexes hopped through an approx. four inch gap at the top of the dividers into the pen next to her.) We didn't know she was pregnant until she started pulling fur a few days ago. Two days ago we woke to a new litter. We briefly checked on them Tuesday night and counted four kits. Last night we checked again and, lo and behold, there is a fifth fat little bugger in there! They are all looking very healthy and she is a great mother.

Nice kits, but you need to fix that GAP or you could wind up with an unexpected dead litter on the wire. Rabbits will be rabbits.:thumbsup

Oh, no. I must have explained that poorly. The gap is at the top of the dividers (about 20" off of the floor) and she jumped over (somehow between the divider and the hinged roof...not sure how she did that). I have since fixed that between all of the runs in that hutch with a 2X4 (since the frame for the dividers is 2X2's).

Actually, since that event (obviously about a month ago), we have moved all of the girls to a separate set of cages, so she is in a nice bigger pen with a solid nesting box.
