Yea, I want the tag gone, but I don't know how to get it off. I don't want to buy a specialty tool just for the one tag and there aren't any tools in a store. So I would have to order it online!

Why? And where?
http://www.drugs.com/vet/ivermectin-injection-for-cattle-and-swine.html

"Swine: IVERMECTIN should be given only by subcutaneous injection in the neck of swine at the recommended dose level
of 300 mcg of ivermectin per kilogram (2.2 lb) of body weight. Each mL of IVERMECTIN contains 10 mg of ivermectin, sufficient to treat 75 lb of body weight."
That's for big, fat production pigs where a 'grumpy' pig reaction doesn't matter.

That PB site said not to give a shot, which I have also found that site before and why I asked about it.
"Everyone has their own way of giving Ivomec. If you go to the vets he will want to give a shot. Pigs don't handle shots very well so ask if it can be given orally. Some use 2/10th of a cc per 10 pounds of body weight and 1/10th of a cc per 10 pounds if given by injection.

Others give 1cc per 50 pounds of body weight. This is the formula we go by here at Pigs4Ever. Ivomec is safe and hard to overdose so don't worry. "

I don't know if they are talking about liquid, I have the paste, which is the same thing, but in a paste so it's easier to work with.

The paste is not the same thing. The paste contains a certain amount of ivermectin but it is not evenly distributed, which is why the liquid is better. Pigs don't like shots - nobody does - but you can give them. You just have to be very quick about it.

Just use any kind of wire snips or pliers that have cutters on them. You may have to cut it into several pieces, but you should be able to get them out. I bought a sheep with one in it, and I was able to cut it out fairly easily.

Went out to see him around 7, he ran around not happy with visitors. I left him to do some other things and eventually looked back in because I saw some thunder. Found him in his little hay pile. Is that ok? He doesn't hide out in there, not that I've noticed, maybe that's just his bed?
And no, no rain fell..

Pigs love to bury themselves in hay when they sleep. As for the Ivomec, I would get some injectable and give it orally----I inject it into a piece of roll or bun and feed it to the pig. It will also help to get rid of some worms if he has any.

I took metal tags out of the ears of some goats that came from a sale barn. Had to use 1 pair of wire snips and 1 pair of pliers-----you have to hold the animla still and carefully pull the tag open. That way you don't rip the animals ear.
