Angela kidded twin does 6 days ago, total surprise as I was not even sure she was pregnant, she did it all by herself, everything fine. She is having some bloody discharge, is this normal? How long will it go on. I want to bathe her, just checking with experts that it is ok. Kids are so cute, new pics to show. Naming them Gift and Biggie, for Big Surprise. Taking them tomorrow to be dis-budded.

The discharge is normal, and may go on for a few days to 2 or 3 weeks. As long as it is warm out, bathing the doe is fine.

Very cute!!! Beautiful rooster too. I'd imagine the bathing advice my own doc gave me after "kidding" would apply-showering is fine but no submersion (like in a tub) for two weeks to prevent uterine infection.

As 20kids said. Those are beautiful babies. What breed (s) are they? The one seems bigger than the other, is there much size disparity? congratulations!

Thank you, I'm thinking they are pretty cute too. The mother is a Pygora, two possibilities for the father, a Nigerian Dwarf, or a Nubian, and unless they could each have fathered one (is that possible with goats) I'm going for the Nubian as the cream/greyish girl has the Nubian ears and nose, at least I think so, but these are my first goats and I'm just guessing really. The other one is totally white, with pink nose, wavy hair and ears just like her mom, and she has wattles. I'm taking them back to where I got Angela tomorrow to be dis-budded, and will get a look at the bucks. Anyway, they're my first babies actually born here so no matter what they are, they're pretty special. :D
Oh, and the rooster is a Serama, kinda cute how he and the kid are almost the same size. He moved from the chicken coop into the goat shed a few weeks ago and seems to be very happy there.
As for bathing, well, I have hot and cold water from the outside tap, so maybe I'll just hose her down a bit as she keeps flicking stuff over her sides with her tail. Will wait for a nice warm day to do that.
