I personally would not pay this much. I got started for 4h by a nice breeder who lived in the same town as me. I paid $20 for a nice quality breeding pair of Silver Martens(because he was no longer interested in them) and a 4 count group of nice quality Californian juniors for $60(15/rabbit). I later kept 1 doe and bought a Calif buck for $10. He started me out right for fairly cheap because I was a teen using these animals for 4h and he wanted to help as much as he could.

Like others have said: if you only want them for meat/fur, a mixed breed might be better- cheaper, and some mixed rabbits will produce better/more meat than purebreds for what capacity you personally have for them.

Hello Taylor Bug, what state are you in, ? I have found chickens online on CL for twenty five dollars.....and NZ for $9:00 prices sure do vary depending on where you live, ...

Sorry, I haven’t really finished my setup yet- I’m from south-central Indiana. My “rabbit guy” mainly does business with locals, so you probably won’t find him anywhere. He lowers his prices for our local 4h-ers so that they can hopefully get started right.
