Im looking into raising rabbits. I asked around online about buying a trio of new zeland rabbits. One person in my area responded and offered to sell me a trio of black and broken new zeland jrs for 100$. Is this a normal price?

That depends. Are they proven breeders? Are they pedigreed? Have their parents, their offspring, or themselves performed well at shows? If not, they are over priced. You can pick up NZs for $20-25, sometimes less for juniors.

Craigslist, www.rabbitbreeders.us , small animal auctions, poultry swaps, feed store bulletin boards, and the state pages here and on backyard chickens would be great places to start.

I would follow GypsyG's advice. For meat rabbit, $20 is fair and if you want pure breed, $25 is a good place to start.

I am in florida and paid $9.00 each for my NZ rabbits at three months old...got them on craigslist from a really nice breeder, best of luck to you
You are within three hours of my location, you will pay a little more where you are but should be able to find on CL for under $15.00 each
