The bucket seats have been popular this year.

It’s going to be hard to pick keeper Shetland lambs this year. There’s so many really nice ones and I technically have a ram I can use on them in 2 years so I can’t even use that as an excuse to sell them. And the 4 new ewes plus any girls they might have are going to be completely unrelated to my 2 new rams as well as the yearling ram I kept over.

I reintroduced Snap, the new ram, to all the boys on Monday. It went a lot better than the first time. I’m debating letting them out today since I’m home and can put them right back in if they misbehave.

I caught a couple of them being rude to Snap on the camera while I was at work. I turned the speaker on and yelled at them and they immediately jumped, looked around, and then walked away from him. 🤣

I love your yarn results. Such dedication and knowledge. While I'm not a person to do that, I admire your talent from afar. However, I have always been a seamstress, so great appreciation for textures, colors and end results.

Keep those ewe lambs!! Keep us wishing we could do what you do. 👍

I finished carding the alpaca/shetland. It’s all packaged up to keep it safe from dirt, moths, and cats until I’m ready to start spinning.

It’s oh, so soft! Each batt (roll) is 2 oz. 2 batts per skein, there’s enough for 11 4oz skeins.

There is some leftover straight alpaca that I also carded up into 2 oz batts.

I did release the rams today and so far so good. Snap isn’t quite integrated into the group, but they aren’t beating him up either.

We’ve got our first problem lamb. Small, single ewe lamb from a first time mom. Mom loves her, but the lamb doesn’t seem to be eating well. She tries to nurse and she must be getting something since she’s still alive, but she’s been crying a lot and her belly was empty tonight when I got home from work.

Mom has milk, but I’m wondering if baby can’t quite reach well enough.

I tubed her this morning before work and that got her through the day. She was very eager for food tonight. She took some from the bottle and then I tubed the rest.

She is adorable. Really tiny too, a pocket lamb!
I have a triplet ewe named Tiny, so little, she couldn’t suck. She grew to full size like her sisters. Last year they all had triplets on consecutive days. This year only Tiny had triplets.

Bottle lambs surprise you. Sometimes despite our best efforts, they don’t make it. Sometimes they do, and grow into being fabulous sheep and we’re so glad we saved them. ❤️

She’s not officially a bottle lamb and she’s definitely not out of the woods yet. I suspect she may have some aspiration pneumonia from birth. She’s hungry and she wants to eat, but can only suck down a little milk before she quits.

She’s gotten BoSe in case she has selenium deficiency and this morning she got a dose of steroids and antibiotics. I fed her this morning, but hopefully the meds will do the trick and she’ll be better tonight.

Well, after a 2+ hour nap where she looked like she was dead or dying, she suddenly popped up and looked much better. She wandered around after mom, nursed for a long time, and then curled up in the sun for another nap. Maybe she’ll be ok after all. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Patti missed her first due date (only time she was marked) and today was 17 days from that date. I almost put her in the lambing pen this morning, but decided to leave her out so as not to put more stress on the sick baby since they’d be in the same space. She lambed out in the paddock this afternoon. Everything looks good from what I can see. White twins. It’s nice and sunny and they are both up and nursing.
