You'd think straight hair wouldn't get tangled so much. I am not a fan of brushing because it never stays anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I use to straighten my hair every day but, after kids I got lazy. DH doesn't care, I could be bald and he wouldn't mind
My oldest son has a white-boy's afro and I can't figure out how to take care of it he has developmental delays and sensitivities to certain textures so, he hates touching hair and I mainly help him. We haven't taken him for a cut since the pandemic started but, I jut might buy new clippers to help him out. I've been somewhat reluctant because I love his hair... reminds me of how he looked as a toddler. But it's so dry, even after days of not washing it.
I need to find a good product.

My daughter does men's hair! I can ask her for a product recommendation. And I think you're right, normally straight hair isn't a tangle issue unless it's super fine and of course, mine is. Although it's easier these days cuz I've lost about half of it! lol.

Yes, please! I'm absolutely clueless when it comes to hair he's got english, scottish, and portuguese... a combination of thick texture that's beyond me. I've been using baby soap because its tear free but I know that's not helping the dryness.

My hair was dark brown and curly as a kid. Started turning gray at 12, colored my hair brown for years until it got so white that I got a skunk stripe in 2 weeks. I looked like skunk road kill. So I colored it red, cut it in a care free shag and kept that until I was 54. Got tired of the dye bottle clutched in my grubby fingers and just stopped. That was HARD! It looked awful, growing out. I wanted to shave my head and wear a hat. Finally had it cut real short, only to find that EVERY old lady I saw had short white hair. So I let it grow out long. Here we are, a couple of years ago, we still look the same. Haha, as we age, we stop looking the age of this number or that number and just sorta hit a plateau and level off.

You both look fantastic! I've never colored or bleached my hair. I always figured mine would turn white instead of grey but so far it's not changing. Even my younger friends hate me for it. It's probably the only GOOD gene's I got from my mom! lol! My daughter checks my hair almost every time she sees me and she just shakes her head in disbelief. It's got ti catch up with me eventually, right?

So, I asked my daughter and this was her answer. "Curls need as much moisture as possible. I'd say deva curl is the best curl line out there that I know of. Also using a leave in conditioner and a wet brush when hair is wet is much easier than trying to deal with it dry. Honestly though if he has sensory issues keeping it shorter may be the best option. Curls just take so much work to keep them from matting."

You are one beautiful gal with beautiful long hair! I would not have ever guessed you were a dark brunette. I would love longer hair but I get tired of it once it gets to my shoulders. And I have noticed that about older women, too! Except my grandma is 90 and still dyes her hair dark brown.

Those are some amazing genes! My parents went gray by 40 so I've got at least 9 more years to enjoy natural color lol.

Yeah, probably the best option for him just to invest the money in some clippers instead. I've enjoyed watching it grow out for once but, it is a lot to maintain.
