EEEYIKES!!
it bit THROUGH the glove - OMG!!
We had bats at the old place. Once in awhile they'd get in the house - super high ceilings too. Out came the tennis rackets.
One night I decided to count...... over 300 flew out of the highest eaves. We did A LOT of screening and such to get rid of them. I HATE BATS.

While not my favorite "flying mammal" bats do sooo much to keep down the insect population... I sure don't discourage them.
I understand the problem with keeping the "munchkins" away from the bat in the cage after you got it "oiled" and off the sticky paper... but you really should have left it somewhere it could have gotten out during the night time so you didn't get bit... they do carry some nasty diseases...
Sorry for you having to go through the rabies shots... but mandatory in that situation... sorry to say, but the next time one might get on the sticky paper... cut out the piece and drown it for everyone's safety . No more shots and not a problem for kids to get into it... and no more chances of you getting bitten.
