Tuesday Tuesday - clean stalls day. I did it last week on Monday right before I had the excision on my arm and I knew I was to "take it easy". Amazingly, the big stall wasn't bad and pretty much the same as a 7 day clean out. Of course I moved mom and baby to the lamb stall on Friday so maybe that had something to do with - one less for 4-5 days. Yeah - that's probably it.
The ewe lamb, now named Smile, is doing great. Dang she's cute (but of course all lambs are cute). She met the flock yesterday. They were all curious and mama told anyone that was thinking of doing more than check her out that they should think otherwise. She's got great mothering instincts.
Today I let her out with the others in the pasture. So cute to see her bounce around.
Looks like 3 or 4 more ewes will lamb - watching those bags!
Hello - my name is Smile...
Nope - that's not my mama ewe.
Out with the flock
OK -- make with the fast food......
I have to admit - once I put in the bunk feeders I've had a LOT LESS waste. Seriously a lot.
When I moved mama and lamb to the lamb stall I put the smaller bunk in with them. Leaving
the 10 ft bunk in the big stall - annnnnnnd ----- it turned into musical "chair" feeding and they
left a lot behind. So I ordered another 5 footer from TSC - and YAY the price was LESS than it
has been the last 2 years. It ~was 199 (and for 219 you could get a 10 ft bunk - makes no sense). AND
score it was 169 (wish it was less but hey I needed it) - and the 10 ft is still the same price (the one I got still
had the old 199 price!!! ).
Also today - TSC called out of the blue to ask if I would like for them to special order the sheep mineral for me again. That made me smile - it is perfect timing as the bag I have is getting low. YAY
