We have another lambie! A rammy lambie from Stripe. He's fuzzy - much more than any of the others we've had here. Kinda cute, white with spots (LOL was hoping for brown like Stipe - such is life).

more pics later of course.
When I put sheep away last night I could hear one of them going maaaa maaaaa. Wondered what was going on. Thought that perhaps Smile had gotten out of the pasture, but there was just one voice. When we got to the barn They were all there. No "extras" - but Stripe had decided she must have a lamb somewhere and kept going over to Smile who was just ignoring her (your not my maaaaam). I had an inkling that Stripe just might lamb. Sure enough - this morning checking on the Blink cam there she was with a lamb.
The garden this year is absolutely the best ever thanks to bird netting. Tomatoes are going crazy, the Early Girls are giving me about 6# a day at the moment. Since they are a determinant variety once they're done I'll pull them an replant with another plant - a 'surprise variety' (volunteers from my friend). I've been putting up a lot of roasted tomato soup the last couple weeks - it'll taste soooo good come fall and winter. More tomato kitchen adventures ahead - salsa (this one for Bay -- fahr sauce) and maybe ketchup.
Cooked up that tatume squash yesterday stuffed with Italian sausage, jalapenos, seranos, tomatoes and cheese -- yummy. Tonight I think I'll grill it. Yeah - it's coming in too - hmm kitchen experiment see how well it freezes.

I really like you raise boxes. What are they made of? Well, I REALLY like the no weed walks 🤣 here, grass GROWS. It's everywhere!!!
LOL - I'm behind on my weeding :barnie . The boxes are from Home Depot online. They're high density polyethylene (fancy name for nice plastic). This is their 3rd year and they are just like when we put them in - though a bit dirtier :D =D. Under each one is 1/2 in hardware cloth to keep the gophers out.
Grass?? What's that?!!

I love your garden! So perfect, neat and pretty!

Adorable lamb. So what are you going to do with ram lambs?
I figure I’ve got a few options
1 keep intact to breed/swap/trade
2 band him and keep for herding lessons
3 freezer
4 sell or take to auction.
The ram lamb from Oct is a nice boy. He’s so far sweet and hasn’t tested or pushed a limit. He’s filled out nicely. At this point he’s a keeper. I may be able to lend and or swap with a friend. Of course that could all change if he gets temperamental.

I vote for band and put in the freezer. You should reap the rewards of being a shepherd, with luscious lamb to put on the table. There will always be rams, they mean meat for the freezer or auction money to spend on feed and hay. There will always be ewe lambs. Add to the flock for herding lessons. Sell a few, spend money on feed, hay, more sheep! LOL

I don’t.
Starting out, when you are in love with all of the adorable little creatures, naming the boys Dinner helps to disassociate that gush of feelings. BTDT.
Why is it all my friends insist on naming them all?? I don't get that. If a name pops into my head ok. Maybe it's a good thing so many are plain white! ;)
