Sore mouth or something else?

Hello Everyone! This is my first post. I recently started a job at a small farm and I am the animal manager. With that being said... I have never done anything like this before and am learning. Just like with every new job, there always seems to be some crazy problem that comes up!

Here is my problem.

We have a small lamb with a raw spot on one side of her mouth that has cone like things sticking up everywhere on the inside of her mouth.

This poor little girl is obviously suffering. I was wondering what your thoughts are on what this could be? I really want to give her a chance before "culling".

I looked up sore mouth but she doesn't have "scabs" anywhere. The farmer I am working for says she has been like this for a few months. They have been cleaning her off and putting salves on it. It isn't getting any worse, but it isn't getting any better.

We are just stumped here. We have quarantined her from the rest of the herd. None of the other animals have this problem.

It seems she is rubbing her face in feces as well. Only on the one side of her mouth where her problem is. The other side of her face is completely normal and clean.

She doesn't act like it hurts her and is eating just fine. She loves grain :)

What can I do? Thank you all for taking the time to read this. I really appreciate it.

To me looks like possible injury or could be a birth defect, No Soar Mouth there!
Although some people will be confused when they see the pictures, As the ointment
they are using causes a bad appearance. she may be alergic to the ointment. take her
temp, check her eyes for parasites, treat if nessesary. then give her some antibodics
and wash off the ointment and let air dry for several days, sheep are pretty tuff animals
and from the pictures she looks like she will be just fine. really just looks like an injury.
could of come from thorn or fence the little ones can get into so much.
Good luck and keep us posted!!!!

I agree with Shelly May, no sore mouth. The little bumps you see on the inside of the lips are completely normal. I would clean her face up really well with soap and water and see what is underneath all the dirt.

Bumps are normal and I agree, wash her face and see what's lying underneath.

What's her temp?

I will check her temp tomorrow, clean her off some more...etc. I will post a better picture tomorrow.

The greenish/brown stuff is her rubbing her face in feces. I actually cleaned it up a lot. Does anyone know why she would do that? It is only on the one side of her face.

Is there anything specific I could put on her face to help keep it from itching if it is? Or I hate to say it but a mask or something to put over her face to keep her from itching it and give it time to heal?

Thank you all so much for your responses! I genuinely appreciate them all!

Do you see her rub her face in manure? Or maybe her water/feed bucket has manure on the edge or maybe she rests her head in manure on accident (like if she's laying down)?
