This sale barn doesn't post total animal numbers until the end of the day but the number is going to be high I'm assuming. It took us an hour and a half to get to the unloading area and the line was out on the highway when we left out of there. We did stop at Cracker Barrel and had lunch.

Today was pretty much a waste as I had doctor's appointment at 1030 this morning with a cardiologist. I was pleased as his exam didn't indicate any issues but to be sure he set me up for another scan that I couldn't even pronounce to make sure there is no artery blockage. :) I had to get caught up on my mowing after that so the day was about shot.

I see lamb and goat prices here are down a bit too... Still, not bad, and they are off the feed bill...so in the neighborhood of $ 75 a head average. No ethnic holidays to help get the higher prices either.

I listed prices in my journal, on the cattle we took today... don't have the sheet in front of me and we did not stay for the cull cows so don't have the check stub... but approx what they brought.... I think these prices are not going to last alot longer... and we are starting to get very dry here... so pastures and hay are a concern going forward too.

So, how is the mower? Is it easier on your shoulder? Are you getting the sweltering temps?

I checked the market report for Waco.

Because of my misfortune, I probably won’t have the lambs to take to market in numbers enough to make the trip worthwhile, it’s 2 1/2 hours.

The summer heat is definitely here. I mowed around all of the fences both perimeter and interior. Then sprayed herbicide around all of the interior netting. I'm always paranoid if the grass gets too high that the sheep won't be able to see the netting soon enough if they get spooked so I keep it cut and sprayed.
