We are going to move the ram lambs in the morning and move the whole flock in to separate ewe lambs and sort for the market. We have several ewes that have been really good but they just don't have the size that we like so they are going to the sale.

We had every intention of working the ewes and pulling their lambs this morning but my usually obedient follow me anywhere sheep said no. I had to call them across three paddocks and they came running like normal but when they got to a paddock that I had mowed about three weeks ago, they all stopped at the same time. That 6-8 inches of lush grass was speaking louder to them than any bucket trail I could use. We will let them graze for awhile then call them in for some food later on.

We did work the sheep today and pulled the lambs off the ewes. I guess the ewes were more than ready since none of them are out there bawling for their lambs.

There is quite a few folks on here that have had or have family that had shoulder problems. My shoulder has been mostly bearable until recently and in the last several days, I have started to feel shooting pain down my arm when I move it. What I want to know is have folks found that to happen or is that something different in my case. I am right handed and had to use my left hand to eat tonight.

Fortunately I don't have the issue -- BUT read this and see if it's what you're experiencing. Then see your Dr for more X-rays or whatever they do now... For a diagnosis and repair.

Obviously, you're "there" for repair time.

I will get some sharp pains down the arm when I try to lift it above shoulder height... and sometimes if I go to lean on it like in bed to want to roll over.. My chiropractor had given me so much relief over the years by making sure it is aligned better so it does not cause the nerve to get pinched or whatever it does. He started working on it in 1991... 2 yrs after the car wreck in 1989 and subsequently the drs at UVA medical said they couldn't do anything else for it. At the time I could not lift it to shoulder height, and my chiropractor had me holding it, PAIN FREE, above my head in 2 weeks of 3 x a week... had to work on it to get the muscles to "hold the spinal column" in place... retrain the muscles and such that support your spine, to keep it in the "new position" , so the nerves that feed out from the spinal colum are not pinched in any way....
So, I can't complain... he gave me 30 years of nearly pain free use of it... and told me that the arthritis in the joint is getting worse...and that the manipulation of the spine can not fully compensate for the lack of motion in the shoulder joint also.
I am contemplating replacement... YEP, I want to be the bionic woman !!!!! But one of my farmer's wives has had both hers done... 6 months apart... and she can lift them above her head, reach around and touch/hold her hands behind her back... full use of them like she hadn't had for years. Said she should never have suffered with it that long.....On top of that , the guy we custom make his hay, also had his shoulder replaced...probably 10 yrs ago or more... said it was the easiest surgery he has had... he did a knee, and a hip, and just did his ankle.... and turns out it was the same dr that did his shoulder, that my farmers' wife had.... so I am contemplating it . I have been fortunate that it has been this good for this long, but it is getting painful.
UVA is a distance for you... but this guy has FABULOUS referrals from people around here...

I don't know if you go to a chiropractor, but mine just about "walks on water" in my opinion... he is a graduate of the Gonstead method... and I would not go to a chiropractor that does not do a full spinal x-ray... my chiropractor is very very good... and I almost always come out of there with immediate relief...

It sounds like you have a nerve that is being "pinched" in the spinal cord that feeds into your shoulder and arm... I would do spinal manipulation by a good chiropractor in a heart beat...
