Well, we are getting that crazy weather here... down to 26 last night... supposed to be sunny all day today then rain coming back in.
How are your lambs looking???

The lambs are looking great and hardy. We haven't had any complaints for awhile now and it's still fun.

We brought the sheep in and spent a good bit of time deciding who goes and who stays so we can make a run to the sale on Monday. We are planning on putting the ram back in with the ewes in a couple of weeks. We have two ram lambs that look so good that we are going to hang on to them to see how they fill in for a bit longer. We are retaining 8 of the ewe lambs but culling one of the yearling ewes.

How much rain did you get out of the last storm this past week? It sure didn't give us much here... couple of tenths.
Hope the lambs do good at the sale.

We didn't get much other than a couple of sprinkles out of this last cell. Wind brought down a couple of trees that fortunately fell away from the fence rather than on it.

It looks like we will be taking 14 sheep to the sale tomorrow. One of the ewes is a registered 2018 ewe but she has never been what we want in our base flock and although she is a sweetie, she has had her time here and has required constant worming. That ewe had a set of twin rams that were about as perfect as I have seen and we are going to grow out one of them for sale. The other made a point of looking me in the eye and then head butting my hand that was laying on the chute. Not just once, but repeatedly. That kind of attitude I don't need and not especially in a 6 week old ram. :)

We worked the sheep again today and went ahead and pulled all of the lambs and moved the senior ewes to a paddock well away from the lambs but close enough to the rams that it will be a simple move when we are ready to start breeding. We moved the two ram lambs to a small paddock off by itself. They are super skittish, and this paddock always works good to get sheep tamed. Depending on how the ram lambs grow, they both can be registered if they deserve it.

How are your temps doing? We were pretty nice yesterday considering the chilly start... breezy but decent. Today started solder, but not much breeze and it got actually hot in the sun this afternoon.

So, how many ewes are you going to be breeding? How many ewe lambs did you wind up deciding you "had to keep" :hide :lol::lol:????. Such a dilemma....:love:celebrate:gig:gig
