I've seen a lot of posts that have referenced ladies in their "prime." I saw this on Facebook and wanted to post it as a tribute to all the strong, determined women in their prime and those who will be!

Ok ladies, I'm looking for suggestions, advice, similar experiences.

As I'm creeping towards my 60's I find that circumstances & situations & very likely my own laziness are going to let me get myself into a bad way.

I know that menopause can lead to joint issues.
And living alone provides me with a perfect scenario to put off anything I don't want to do if it doesn't NEED to be done. 'Who's going to know... or care?'
I've proven to myself that the more I move, the better I feel.. But being in fairly constant low-grade pain makes me not WANT to move much if I don't NEED to.
Recently moving to night shift has left me wanting to spend all my time off napping. Although that may very well be totally in my head. Truthfully, I didn't 'require' nearly this much sleep when I was on the exact same schedule but working days.

Over the last couple of years, I've worked out ways to streamline many of the chores around the farm. It's possible - baring anything super unusual happening - to be able to maintain the day-to-day around here in under an hour a day. That's not mowing the grass & keeping things looking nice; just keeping everyone fed & watered & safe.

Yall get SOO much done everyday and I'd like to know if there are things that you do to help you keep your energy up... to keep joint pain at bay... to keep mobility & strength... to get & stay motivated?

At 69, the only pain I have is my reconstructed knee, from 2012. It will need replacing someday. My issue is depression getting in the way of everything. Un motivated, can't make myself do anything.

I was able to start to volunteer at the food bank two days a week, last November. That helped alot. You can't cus you work right now.

I did two months of on line via live video with BetterHelp dot com. That young man was very helpful and gave me tips on how to get back into life again. Its still a struggle, but I'm getting better.

My bestest friend, Roy, was a cop for many years. He loved working graveyard cus there was alot going on crime wise. On the two days he had off, he would go to bed at about 2 or 3 a.m., so that he had time to be with his wife and DD the next day. I don't know what type of schedule you're trying to keep on your days off. Something to consider.

They say at age 44 and 60 that the body goes through an ageism spurt, not that it applies to anyone here except for me.
Maybe I can finally gain enough weight to finally make 150 lbs :plbb 130 lbs is all I weigh on a rainy day and I pack a punch in weight to strength ratio.

Still working has kept me active mentally....a purpose beyond scrubbing water tubs and milking goats. 😁Adjustable schedule works for me, my moods and my farm.

I am blessed with good health, no pain, original parts.🤣

I'm just gonna keep rolling along until the engine quits.
