We have cattle and horses which attract flies. For a couple weeks we have used Purina mineral feed tub with Altosid for our cattle. However, after further thought I don’t want that stuff in my cattle or in my soil. My ultimate plan is to implement several more natural fly predators including my chickens. My concern now is, once the altosid tub is removed how long do I need to wait to put my chickens on the field? I don’t want my chickens getting sick and we eat their eggs. Thanks!

Altosid has no withdrawal time for meat or dairy so I'm thinking your chickens will probly be safe. If you eat any store bought beef or drink/eat store bought dairy you have already been eating/drinking Altosid most likely.

We got them from Spalding for years- they work. Started buying them from Buglogical, since we buy beneficial insects for our greenhouse business from them

If chickens free range, they will eat fly predators too. My chickens all free range and do an amaz ing job with flies, grasshoppers and the even ate all the pollwogs my frog had in a water spot. Plus, they break up manure. I have a lot of chickens.
That's true, you have to put fly predators in something with holes so they can fly out. The chickens will eat the eggs. We had really bad flies this year, my chickens don't try to eat them. They're death to grasshoppers tho!
